I have heard the hooker for Aloysus will be Todd Gillman. Remember to watch out for this one; he runs straight.

Wouldn't forget Wayland in starting CAS XV. Dominated against Pats, didn't look at his strongest but has gained some pace since last season. Trinity could go either way. Looked strong early against Pats but lacked finishing touch. Longville, Morris, Rasch also very strong. If injury toll is managed, could be a big season. Interesting to see clash v Barker on Saturday. Potential dark horse this season.

Dainton vs Stenmark for #10? Both good athletes, will be good to see the pair face off. Waves with weak pre-season showing could fail to score points unless Jordan sets the team on fire.

Tough to leave Basson out based on a one sided match vs a very strong Joeys. He was MOTM v Augs in earlier trial and has been a stand out for Knox 1s over past 2 seasons and in a very strong Gordon Rep side that won everything up to U16s. I don't know the Waverly 6 and 8 well, but would be surprised if they have both been as good as consistently as Basson

I predicting a reshuffling of the backline this week as well as some new additions bolstering the forward pack with size and strength.

The other Trinity winger (O'Neill) did well too, and is also quick (though not like BHD). Trinity's rugby can suffer from boys doing specialist athletics instead during winter. They have two boys quicker than Hollingworth-Dessent, one also 16s, but not playing rugby any more.

To answer another question, Trinity have three 16s in their 1sts, though two are year 11 underagers. The other year 11 boy is their half, who mainly played at openside flanker in the 15s last year. Ilias at 10 is year 10, keen to see how he steps up. He's been very good at underage level. Trinity's 16s will really struggle this year. From last year's 15As, three playing opens and two doing athletics.

The only Trinity kid who has been missed in these discussions (because he missed the St Pats game and a lot of last year) is Stead in year 11. He will play openside, very quick, tough and good football brain. The Waverley boys know him well, as he played Randwick reps with a few of them. It will be interesting to see how he compares with the others, esp the Waverley opensider.

Fyi Frost, the Knox lock, is very mobile and skilled for a big unit. He could have a big future. And he doesn't turn 17 till later in the year.

1. Zweck - very big man upfront
2. Horder - another enforcer, very quick to the ball and can decimate defensive lines
3.Fineanganofo- coming into prop from 5/8 last year is looking very promising however slightly small

5. Danny Willo- very fast and good on d
6. Ellis - turnover king
7. Cameron - slightly slow but good on D
8. Hawtin - big man to make tackles
9. Currey - gives very good balls to backs and forwards, likely MVP of this team
10. Derwent - quickest bloke on the field with the ball skills of a lesbian
11. Watson - put here because of his brother
12. Guest - good runner of lines
13. Moore - suffering from emphesema he is still one of the hottest players in cas.
14. Frear - quickest 100m in cas 16's a big threat to defensive lines
15. Choi- big man at the back controlling the back 3

True I forgot him, but I don't know how soon he'll be back. He did very well last year and has a big rugby pedigree. They are missing him at 15.

View of someone looking over the fence. Agree about Basson who is well regarded by GPS players. As is Armstrong, Dainton and Slaven. All were members of a very strong GDJRU rep team that included Brown brothers and Peitsch from TKS, Terry, Pirina, Scott, Fahey from Riv, all playing GPS 1sts at present. Whalen another one who is very well regarded. Anstey had a great U16s for CAS. I've watched Slaven for best part of 5 years playing club and rep rugby and he would go close to my first selected as the smartest kid I saw of the age group. That he was such a good utility maybe has worked against him but #9 or #15 for me. Dainton as I have previously stated did much to win the U16s for CAS and seen him perform in other forums as well, enough to have in front of Searl who I would have in the centres. A lot of discussion coming from the weekend results involving CAS v GPS, with some writing off CAS this year but I think CAS have enough quality in their ranks to hold off making any rash predictions.

No, they're not. They're really, really not. They are the weakest age group in the school and despite a good showing in the final trial against St Stanislaus, will do well to win a couple of games.

Cranbrook's 15s, on the other hand, are terrific.

Adamsforskip, I thought that currey boy at 9 was playing prop on the weekend. Also if I remember correctly zweck was at 8 and frear was at 10. What have you done here mate, it looks like you've mucked up your selections to me

correct mate, however he is a very adaptable player and is a freak all around the park. Zweck and Hawtin are both interchangable players and for a rough game this weekend the team needed more power up front. Frear however had a shocker at 10 and has been pushed out to the wing as he is a very damaging player. Interested to see a revised team from you

I think that overall, currey has truly earnt his position in the side playing in at 9 being able to whip out fierce bullets. Not really sure about Trobec however his past few performances he has been unable to play as part of the team believing he is above it. However a strong side for the tough battle awaiting them this weekend

Bloody oath, the Red and White will be a tough nut to crack at their Fortress Hordern Oval.

As we take a break from the lunacy of Green and Gold Speculation here are some things CAS Rumour Mill CAN CONFIRM for this weekend.

1. Andrew Spira from Cranbrook has left the school and will not feature this season in any New South Wales Rugby.

2. Matt Horsley's injury is not as serious as first thought. 3-5 weeks is an approximate timeline of his recovery.

3. Knox's new "import" is absolute guff. He doesn't exist and this was a tactic that was very effectively used by St Aloysius to attempt to throw Knox off last year.

4. There will be no changes for the 16A's at Knox. All are fit and ready to play. 16F's players will NOT be running at this level. Get a grip!

Overall, another week of nonsense that these forums have been so well known for. More previews and late mail to come so stick around!!

If people can't start to behave like civilised folk on here, the CAS thread will be locked.

The moderators have better things to do with their lives than referee behaviour on this thread.

If something is untoward hit the report button, do not inflame things with a post "playing the man" no matter how tempting that may be.

While the forums appear to be anonymous, the site software records all sorts of good stuff like IP Addresses. School IT Heads are always interested to hear of nonsense chatter being posted on public "anonymous" forums particularly from within the Networks they administer. G&GR has and will continue to communicate with schools about what their students are doing with their bandwidth.

G&GR is not Facebook or snapchat, and posting permission is a privilege not a right. Treat it as such, or you may be in for a rude shock. It is also not a democracy.

- Waverley to strong for Aloys by about 14

- Knox should blow Cranbrook away and win comfortably. Knox by 20

- Barker Vs Trinity my match of the round and should be a tight contest. Trinity just getting the better by a point

Be interesting to see how both knox and waverley bounce back from comprehensive defeats

Cranbrook aren't too bad and is knox plays as poorly as against joeys ... It could be close... However would tip knox.

Waverley in recent years have been bit complacent with aloys... However I think they will have too much firepower at QP ... So think they should be convincing winners there

Barker versus trinity should be interesting and hard to call ... Really a coin toss ... I'll go with trinity as I rate their coach, and in his second year , even with a paper thin player roster , reckon he will get them home
