Alos has the best 10 without a doubt in Dainton. He is a seriously classy player but will be behind a small pack. Would have been great to see him this year but injuries got in the way
I agree Dainton is handy, however I wouldn't be too quick to anoint any positions this early. He will be recovering from a serious injury and there are other players coming through that will be another year stronger and more experienced. I've heard that the Cranbrook fly-half performed well towards the end of the season. I also saw the Knox yr10 boy Woodcock a couple of times and he was exceptional for a yr 10 boy - scoring tries and kicking goals to help Knox win at least a couple of games. He is in the NSW 16's team. As we saw this year, trying to predict a CAS team or further selections in any teams is a bit of a lottery.

Predicted Waverley 2016
1. F Wright - 1st XV, CAS Under 16s, Sydney 16s
2. L Molloy (Szabo) .. 1sts/2nds (16As & CAS Under 16s)
3. L Smith ... 1sts/2nds
4. L Drew-Morris .. 1sts/2nds
5. P. Clifton .. 1sts, CAS under 16s
6. D. Szabo (Cornish) .. 16As (Injured)
7. B. O'Sullivan ...1sts/2nds
8. L. Small
9. M. Bell (T Jordan) 16As, CAS 16s (1sts)
10. T. Jordan (Donaldson) ..1sts (16As)
11. Wallace (M Towns/T Murphy).. 16As (both 15As)
12. T Fuller ...1sts, CAS 2nds
13. L.Cornish ... Injured
14. J.Yoanndis ... 1sts
15. J.Mohi ....1sts, CAS 2nds

Conservative option(Experimental)

I quite like my experimental team, I figure you get your best players all on the field, and start the season early. Then again there are that many good players that I haven't picked and I rate (eg Hardaker CAS 16s, Muddle (1sts/2nds), Hassan, that these 15s really aren't ready yet)

I think that Murphy would be better suited having a go against Szabo for the '6' spot, Towns would go well on the wing.

In the few games of Under 16's which I witnessed I thought young E. Howe was a standout in the backline (was also selected for CAS 16's prior to a season ending injury) , surely he would have to be in your thinking moving to next year??

Looks like a strong side. Plenty of size up front, lots of class in the outside backs and Jordan and Fuller will make for a good mid-field.

With quite a few Year 11 players returning from this year's 1sts and 2nds teams and with the strong U16s group playing in the opens next season, the Waverley coaches should have a strong squad to choose their 2 teams from.

My team

1. F Wright
2. A Hassan/ T Hooper
3. L smith
4. L Drew-Morris
5. P Clifton
6. T murphy
7. B O'sullivan
8. L Cornish
9. T Jordan/ M Bell
10. B Donaldson
11. Levi Smith
12. T Fuller
13. J Yoannidis
14. Z Carr/M Towns/ J Mohi
15. J Mohi/ T Jordan

I think Mohi could have the potential to play wing at the highest levels and lacks the ability to ball play and kick at fullback.
Jordan could shift to fullback with Bell a more than capable 9.
Have not seen enough of Town to make a decision however heard good things.
Donaldson is yet to prove himself as a tough 10 however if he doesnt Jordan may be forced to play there again.
All in all looking up for waverley over the next 3 years.

Konbar, I agree with you ... Murphy would be good at 6 ... however seems he has been wanting to hang out with the prettyboys (aka backs)

out of the (long-shot) under 15s, Murphy probably has the best maturity ... at least so I am told

maybe Sideline could comment ... he is the Gordon Bray of Waverley rugby ... ps that is a compliment Sideline.

would be curious to know how many Waverley kids from the strong performing 2s and 3s are back ... as I think hopefully there will be a few names, not on the radar pushing for a spot in the 1s

is that what they call Smokies? Never understood what that word means ...

Either way will be curious to see the athletics 100m times ... as wondering if the likes of M Towns are as fast as I think ... shame they don't do 40 metre races

Yeah, they were, as well as
Leo Bosch, Matt Horsley and Lachlan Ireland from Knox
Liam Rasch, Jordan Morris, Max Swallow and Chris Molla from Trinity.
Jaya Yoannidis and Ethan Micallef from Waverley.
Sean Hasegawa from Barker.

Of the above, I'm pretty sure Bosch, Rasch, Morris and Yoannidis will be back. Not sure about the rest.

This season, Waverley U16s forwards Finn Wright and Pat Clifton handled the 1st XV comp with ease.

Tadgh Murphy will have the size, toughness and talent to do likewise, but a year is a long time. Ditto for Max Towns who is a classy outside back. We'll wait and see, but they're definitely players of the future.

I'm not too sure how many of the 2nds and 3rds players will be backing up next year, but I would be interested to know as well.
