Love your work FF (Folau Fainga'a).
Buddy I was wondering at the difference in ruck involvements. Eg
Brumbies attack rucks = 234 : Reds defence rucks = 68 [ratio of 3.4:1]
Reds attack rucks = 161 : Brumbies defence rucks = 60 [ of 2.7:1]
Does this simply mean Reds commit less in the defending rucks? Or is there a bigger picture?
My numbers are individual player Ruck Involvements not Rucks.
Your ratios above will depend upon % Possession and game strategies re protecting own ball carriers and how often/how much pressure on the opposition ball carriers.
Brumbies took the ball into 102 rucks and won 91% (93/102).
Reds took the ball into 68 rucks and won 93% (63/68).
Brumbies averaged 2.3 players in support of their ball carriers; the Reds 2.4.
Brumbies has had a low of 2.2 against the Canes and SWolves and a high of 3.3 against the Chiefs.
The 2.4 was a low for the Reds - their high was 3.4 against the Blues.
Both teams have a 2016 av of about 2.75.
Brumbies averaged 0.9 players per Def Ruck; the reds 0.7 players per Def ruck. i.e The Reds were standing off rucks more than the Brumbies.
The Brumbies range has been 0.6 against the Crusaders to 1.3 against the Waratahs and Chiefs.
The Reds have a much tighter range - 0.6 against the Cheetahs and 1.0 against the Bulls.
Both teams have a 2016 av of 0.8.
So the Attack Rucks for the Brumbies become Def Rucks for the Reds and vv.
