Just another nice stat. When was the last time so much cheese was handed out and Swain wasn’t the recipient of any.

the move west has been good for him so far and would love to see him in wallaby gold again
errrh he was fine last year at the Brumbies around discipline as well. His been good for a while, and should have been in the Wallabies last year, he kept Frost out of the Brumbies for long periods of time.

He looks a lot more self-disciplined to me, and his game seems to have improved a lot.

He may have been better - but I watched him live at Suncorp last year and he still did plenty of stuff off the ball. He just didn’t get called for it

Other than that though he was great. It would be interesting to know why Schmidt didn’t have him in the Wallabies squad.

Good group of Locks developing/comeback if we can hold them in Aus. Swain was good, Williams good and Canham had a really good start for the Reds and it's exciting to see what he will do as he settles into that pack. He in particular has some intangibles that are different from the others and things you cant teach athletically. I'm not directly comparing him at this stage but it's similar to things we saw Retallick do. A rip a way to a semi line break and offload type play that we never see from the lumbering guys.
Interesting isn't it. 10/15 years ago we were really struggling for locks but we have really developed some solid talent since then.

The Reds have 4 very good locks in LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Smith, Blyth and Canham (+Uru)

Brumbs with Frost, Hooper and Shaw

Force with Williams, Swain, Carter

Tahs are probably the weakest of the bunch with Amastero, Sinclair, Smith

Plenty quality player popped overseas in Skelton, Hockings, Arnolds, Phillip, Staniforth, Hanigan.

Aus is pumping out some quality there.

My guess would be that he was worried about the possibility of another brainfart.

I seem to recall, the reason given (or was it just guessed at?) last year was he lost his spot in the squad due to his inability to secure the kick-off in a couple of critical points in the Brumbies play-off run last year

I have a season ticket but couldn't go to the game as I was interstate. I watched it on TV instead and it definitely looked like a bigger than usual crowd.
