Brumbies v Reds Rd 14 Sat 17th May @ GIO Stadium 7.35pm AEST

The Ghost of Raelene

Phil Kearns (64)
I really struggle ( when it comes to contact time) how players such as Pollard throw the old " yeah I have a background in league / my dad was a mungo' etc etc so I might consider leaving rugby to play DV rugby..
I get his contract is up this year ( duhh) but it treats us rugby fans like shit.

I get its pro-sport but its a bit like, 'So you're just a gun for hire, mercenary who doesnt really bleed for the Brumbies jersey after all'. I wonder what Schmidt / Kiss etc think of a bloke when they say things like that. Surely it removes them in some part from their long term plans? or not..
Anyway - I like him, but he's said he'll leave the game if he gets more $ - maybe I'm old but we need rugby blokes.
I think we’re looking too much into it. What was the exact question to begin with? He did play league for the Bears, his grandfather did as well. His Dad coaches a League side… he’s allowed to say he enjoys the sport.

We also need to remember the grubby fingers of Managers are all over this. Wright was the same then a few days later a 3 year contract in Rugby. If it got him a bit more $$ then good luck to them it is a job.

Just haven't been making the right decisions on when to carry tight and when to spread tonight. Brumbies have been much too focused on the ruck for us to be getting that wrong.
