Brumbies with a huge maul but Pocock goes too early off the back and is tackled by Higgers. They get a penalty in front, go nowhere and finally take the shot.

Back to 13 - 8. Brumbies back in the game with 17 to go.

Debreczini with a 55m penalty attempt easily gets the distance - it goes about 70m on the fly - but misses to the left.

Fardy flattens Harris as he kicks the ball, but it goes no farther.

Debreczini penalised for running into Coleman as he tried to take a kick. 11 to go with the Rebels 5 up. Second half a game of kicksies but Brumbies have a lineout 25m out.

Lots of the bench for both teams on.

Fainga'a steals, Harris clears, Rebels steal immediately again and we are back to a kickathon but Debreczini kicks into touch on the full from 40m out, wasted ball.

8 to go. Rebels are spoiling it for themselves with a major upset on the cards,

Dowsett box kicks on the halfway line but English drops a kick he should take easily. How is he still starting for the Rebels?

Brumbies reserve front row eats the Rebels front row with PAE still on. Alaatoa looked pivotal, he dominated his opponent.

Brumbies take a lineout 15m out, maul to 10m out.

Fainga'a though gets in the way and earns a relieving penalty for the Brumbies holding on.

Powell on for Dowsett (who hasn't been great), 4 to go.

Another not straight throw from the Rebels hooker Leafa. Are we ever going to see Sexton?

BTW, it was PAE that Alaatoa smashed at scrum time earlier. He might leapfrog JP Smith earlier than expected.

2.5 minutes to go with the Rebels up 13 - 8.

Brumbies knock on 45m out, and the scrum finally packs for the second time with under 1 minute to go.

This should be the game.....

Brumbies poor depth exposed cruelly, sadly for them. With their full strength team I think they would have had this in a canter.

Booing??? Keep it classy Canberra

I have the sound down so can't hear anything.

Commentators (especially Kearns), ref (Gardiner is so painful) and crowd.

Harris runs it out after the siren post messy scrum.

Rebels upset the Brumbies 13 - 8. In the wet the Rebels kicking game was better than the Brumbies, and the Brumbies reserves are generally so far behind their main players it's just not funny.

And, Reds heading to spoon-dom.

Sio is the real strength in our front row and it really struggled tonight without him............

And not having To'omua and White in those conditions was a real setback............

I was predicting that the Brumbies would go for a rolling maul charging towards the line for the win, only for Dowsett to grab the ball from 1m out and do a box kick..............

Seriously, is he watching Nic White's 2013 highlights package?

Ok, I can now lose my shit. Top stuff Rebels, you won the forwards battle and did enough in the backs to win. Bloody proud of the lot of ya. Brumbies dos well with that rolling maul, but we had enough to cope with it.

Now off to drink a lot of beer.

Well done Rebels, good tough win on the road.

Dowsett ok for the Brumbies, but needs to cut the box kick out of his repetoire.

Wonder how Stirzacker felt when he was penalised (correctly) for pushing Dowsett at a scrum when Genia was allowed to do so to him with immunity a few weeks ago?

Brumbies rolling maul very good, but seriously on one occasion Gardiner calls use it 3 times and still allows them time to clear it, next time use it once and the maul starts to go cross field (which according to the laws equates as being stationary) and he does nothing and give them more time to clear it. Does this guy know the maul law?
