Brumbies 2024

Wallaby Way

Herbert Moran (7)
Not too bad. He didn't take the line on a lot (typical halfback playing out of position).

The good part was the width on the attack - he threw some bullets that got the ball out to the back three quickly.

McLeod's a gun. Reminds me of Latrell Mitchell - he should have a contract next year in some form.

This was in the Canberra Times report of the game:
McLeod is a proud Yuin man from the South Coast who came to Canberra to join the Brumbies Academy program.

Morgan Turinui really gave him a big wrap on tonight's episode of Between the Sticks on STAN. Is impressing some people in the know. Hopefully the Brumbies are suitably impressed to keep investing in him.

The Safeguard Global ACT Brumbies and the ACT & SNSW Griffins have submitted their team lists ahead of the first Challenge Cup match this Sunday the 29th of September at Viking Park, 4:15pm.

Also at Vikings Park this Sunday
is the Super Rugby u16 and u19 Competition
Round 1
Brumbies u16 v Western Force 12.05pm
Brumbies u19 v Western Force 2.05pm

With both sides looking to secure an early win in the two-game series, respective coaches Stephen Larkham and Frank Condi have each named powerful sides to square off this weekend.

With Condi leading the best from clubland, the coach says his side show plenty of promise have been preparing well for their clash against the Brumbies.

"The Griffins squad is a great bunch of boys, they're very switched on and there has been good buy-in to what we're trying to achieve," said Condi.

When asked to pinpoint a key player for his side, Condi admitted he was spoilt for choice, however fullback Clay Uyen has evidently given the coach plenty to look forward to on Sunday.

"We have a backline that's full of energy but Clay Uyen will be key, he's extremely versatile with solid running angles, great position play and he is a clear communicator from the back."

"We're under no illusions however, we will be coming up against a strong Brumbies team, when you come up against the Rory's and the Reimer's of the club it will always be tough. I've got no doubt they'll be well drilled and offer a good set-piece in the big moments."

A few of the Brumbies straight out of this year's U20s. McLeod and Pritchard are the current U20s centre pair if I'm not mistaken. Good to see Lachlan Hooper back in action.
