It seems that out of the first batch of 1500 tickets, only around 60 went to non-members. If that rate continues for the remaining 4500, I don't think too many members will miss out

"Obviously of concern is the ability for members to purchase up to 4 additional tickets when claiming their tickets. To provide some clarity on the rational for this process and why members have been provided this opportunity, the primary reasons are provided below.
Under COVID conditions, every single attendee requires a ticket. This includes infants and children under the age of 5. In normal circumstance children under the age of 5 do not require a ticket and thus do not have a membership barcode. By allowing members to purchase LIMITED (per transaction) additional tickets, we can allow our entire Brumbies family, including those with children under the age of 5 to attend and obviously sit with their parents.​

Secondly this allows for parents/guardians who are season ticketed members to be able purchase tickets for their children who may be registered players to attend the game with (these registered players would otherwise not be able to purchase their tickets until Friday and would then be separated from their parents). It also allows members to purchase tickets for other members who may be in a different seating category or hold a different membership that they usually sit with at home games. Once again this will allow our members to attend the game, and sit with their friends, who they would normally watch the game with.​

Our members are a very considerate group and are only purchasing extra tickets if they are truly needed. Out of the tickets claimed as of the time of writing (nearly 1500) only 70 of these have been additional purchases. This represents only 5% of the total tickets available in the first release. If/when the capacity increases, the extra tickets purchased at this rate would represent only 300 of the total 6000 tickets available.​

Please rest assured all members will have an opportunity to access some tickets."​

We got only got to go to one SRAU game due to the way they did the ticketing.

Is the level of membership relevant? I think the Waratahs only allowed full season members access for the initial home game at least.

You would think not, but the Brumbies have used different strategies during SARU. They did a member ballot over two games which was reasonable, they did a "first in", now this one is by membership type. Platinum and Gold have access today, others tomorrow down to the lowest class on Friday.

Interestingly the Brumbies have discovered that a lot of their long term members are actually Silver as they prefer seats closer to the action EG: front row (and most of the seats in each of those bays) between the 22's on the far side are Silver - we have front row. So the second day release to Silver has not gone down well.

There is is questions also about transparency and the information that is being communicated. The FB post from above fails to mention that seats may not be together due to the way they have structured the seating. So families could be split. We know of one family that needed 8 (some for under 5's) but could only get 6 together.

The other feedback that is coming out from those who had access today is that grandstand seats and some other "premium" seats have not been accessible so there are question as to what going on. Members apparently tried to get their usual seats in the stands that have been used during the COVID games and they were not available.

I feel sorry for the Brumbies as its a messy affair due to COVID and the ACT government requirements.

Yeah, a changing of the guard. Ikitau and Kata, possibly even Wright, are the future at No 13. TK has given admirable service to the Brumbies and wish him well at the Force if confirmed.

But you can’t keep everyone. Surely it’s better that these young players go somewhere.....for the good of Australian rugby of course.

Qld grew them, ACT developing them.
