Brumbies 2020

Seeing Frost's try at the U20's WC I reckon he could turn in a sub 12

Doing a bit of searching - from the CAS athletics results Frost ran an 11.6s 100m in his last year of school. Pretty impressive for a 205cm 18 year old!

He was quite the athlete as well - National decathalon champion in u15s.

Have heard that he set the all time 10m speed record whilst at the crusaders, 1.51s.

Looking forward to seeing how he performs, obviously has the potential just needs to bulk up and fill out his frame. One to keen an eye on in the coming years for sure.

Good options coming through, but gutted that we're losing Arnold. Fair enough to Carter, good innings but Arnold was just hitting his peak.

If only he stuck around for another 2-3 years. Likewise Lilo for just one more year

Go back and look at that squad on the first page of confirmed signings.

The Brumbies are excellent squad managers / recruiters.

If anyone wants to see Pasitioa play - go to Double Take Sports Live feed today at 2.15pm. QLD GPS Nudgee College playing Brisbane Boys College. Meant to be an even type of game.

Round 2 on the Gold Coast yesterday was the first time I've watch a number of the development players on the ground. Andy Muirhead being the player that gets my thumbs up, next being Noah Lolesio but ony for the first 30 minutes. Muirhead played fullback but see him more of a winger in comparison to Pulu and Hansen who played yesterday. Pulu was good. Noah had impact for the first half hour then went missing and started to lose control of the backline and come good again with 10 to go. Kuenzule come on in the centres and didn't see anything that excited me for a potential Brumbies flyhalf. The Queensland flyhalves for City and Country dominated in both games. I was told they were 20 and 18 years of age.
Darcy Swain and Blake worked together and covered the inconsistency of Miller and Angus Allen. Couldn't get a good take on Nick Frost but looks like he reads the game well. Ryan Lonergan was good on the pass but had a shocker with kicking.

Country deserved the win.

On the Saturday we drove up to Nudgee College to watch the Nudgee College and Brisbane College game. All I can say is I hope that was Pasitoas worst game and if anyone is suggesting that he is ready for Brumbies main squad you better get training. More of an outside centre. That ground was pumping with energy. We have never seen any rugby game in Australia like it. Queensland breed some good forwards up there.

Great that you got out to Nudgee, Ross Oval is one of the true rugby experiences / nurseries in the country. A lot of people up here think schoolboy footy is the best rugby experience in the country.

Watch Pasitoa on last years Oz Schoolboys tour, he will go okay with a few more seasoned professionals around him.

Nudgee are only “ok” this season.

To your point though, he may well be a 12 or even 13.

Pretty happy we kept Carter Gordon, he looks like a Bernie clone.

Pasitoa would not be suited to playing Super Rugby next year, particularly at 10. He will do well to break into the Aus 20's as a flyhalf at this stage in his career.
Maybe in 2-3 years time he will be Super ready. Lets not rush him, give him time to develop all those key skills he needs at flyhalf that aren't quite well rounded enough yet.

I think the way the Reds have handled Carter Gordon this year has been pretty good, bring him in to train around the full-time lads but send him back to get maximum game time in club land, then give him exposure to the next level up during the NRC next year.

Young playmakers just need to be playing rugby, maximum time playing club rugby whilst training full-time is the best outcome for these young 5/8s IMO.

Brisbane College had smart fast forwards.

Gordon is a Bernie clone for sure and I told Bernie that a year ago. The Reds have a lot of flyhalves - Hegarty, Stewart, Lucas, JOC (James O'Connor) and Gordon. We'd be happy to take Gordon off your hands... Just say the word.

Just don't see it.

Three home games to start the season. Should expect to have a better start than the past couple of years where they've been slow out of the blocks.

My early tip is for the Brumbies and Reds to fight out the conference next year. But is there a conference? Or is it just straight out points on the ladder in 2020?

Conferences, I believe. Changes the following year.

what was Nic White's situation? Is he back to the UK for most of the 2020 Super Rugby season ala To'omua?
