Brumbies 2019

so slightly off track, but having attended the cricket at Manuka yesterday, man is GIO left wanting. Manuka has got a great thing going with all of the food trucks and a couple of beer gardens around the place.

Hopefully the next tender process for food/bev at GIO learns from what Manuka has done and does something a bit more interesting. I know it would get some of my mates out to more games.

On the food van question: Manuka had an easier attempt because a.) people were almost certainly going to buy while they were there, and therefore b.) the service providers were more willing to bid a higher value for the right to sell on the ground. The system they have set up in Bruce Stadium is an alternate solution because of the lack of quality service providers willing to bid for a spot at the stadium.

On the Larkham question; we're fine without him. We posted a profit last year, no need to risk that.

Can't help feel that Larkham has been dudded. He was pushed into the role way too early, and while attack has not been a strength it is not the key issue at the Wallabies. I'm glad we are not losing him as an Aussie coaching resource even if the role seems a tad made up.

I'd love to see him get the chance to get back to a Super franchise and start working through the stuff he wants to do without someone breathing over his shoulder.

We've invested in the bloke, we should see it through.

Simone had a season without Beale there and had a decent chance to make 12 his own, he didn't live up to expectations and I believe was replaced by Horwitz for most the season. Not saying I don't want him to do well, but he has struggled to perform at 12.

I'd be going Hawera at 10 and Lealifanio at 12, but if Lealifanio is 10 then its a shootout between JJH/Simone/Wright.

Good to have options :)
Spot on. Simone was sensational at club and NRC but failed to follow it up when he had the opportunity with the Tahs. I hope he goes well in his future

Saw him play for Norths last year, wasn't blown away.

If you are losing out to Horwitz there is something wrong.

And I recokon will Lose out to JJH or Wright at the moment, hopefully we get him firing because he could be something special.

Brumbies should put 30 on the Tahs trial side, it will be interesting to see if Simone holds 12

Looks like everyone bar Sio, Ala'alatoa and Pocock getting a run. Although, surprised Conal McInerny also seems to be missing from the reserves. Is he injured?

Have Tom Ross and Vunipola Fifita swapped sides or is it just a mix uo with the usual numbers attributed to the reserve props?

I will be satisfied if the side, especially in the backline, show the enterprise and willingness to attack with ball in hand that they played with at the end of 2018.

What's with the reserves numbers? Interesting to have two 5s, 6s, 8s, 11s, 12s, 13s, 14s, and 15s on the field potentially.

Looks like the first choice team minus Sio, Ala'alatoa, and Pocock. I'm disappointed for Lucas and Muirhead, but it's otherwise exactly what I'd pick.

Presume it's a cost saving measure. Not often that you are going to need a number 32.

Lucas offers a bit of spark off the bench, but he's not as good as Powell.............

And I think we'll see Lonergan overtake him by season's end.

I believe Lucas has shown a better partnership with Lealiifano over the last year, but I get that Powell is the starter and it's his spot to lose. Agreed on Lonergan, he's definitely the future. I wonder if either Powell or Lucas will be happy to stay with us if they're getting limited game time?

I like the duplicated numbers for the extra reserves. Easy to identify the changes when they're made. I, for one, wouldn't have a clue who No 32 would be if a newbie ran out in that jersey, but I can be really sure I know who the likes of Douglas, Wright and Kuenzle are even though I don't know what they look like yet.
