Brumbies 2019

Rumours the Brumbies are interested in James Slipper

Wouldn’t be impressed if he moved there. The countries second best LH playing reserve prop all season isn’t a win for aus rugby. Would go down in my list of wallabies playing squad man at Super level, Naivalu the other that needs to be pushed

He doesn't have a lot of options........

Reds don't want to play him, the Tahs have Robertson, and the Rebels have about 20 props on the books.........

We just signed Mees Erasmus from the Ponies, and I thought he was a LHP. With Faulkner, Sa'aga and T-Bone (for now) on our books, I can't see him finding a spot down here.

Damm shame tho. If anything, he's more required at QLD.

Generally I agree about not having two wallaby level players in the same position at one super side but props might be a bit of an exception
We need to do a better job managing game time of these guys throughout the season and having depth in the position will help that.

Would still much prefer him to be playing for the reds though.

slipper would be a great signing for any club imho as he imho is getting better with age after overcoming his back issues and thought he was immense for QLD country last weekend.

imho he will push again for Wallaby contention next year.

Always want more quality in Canberra. I'd be happy if every bloody Wallaby was here. Mayhew was basically Sio's equal and that situation was great, given Sio's injury record.

Are there any more rumours about Harry Lloyd returning? He again showed his strength in the scrum against the Brisbane City giant prop, pushing him backwards quite easily on a couple of occasions and earning turnover ball/penalty.

Has he got over his back issues?

James Slipper will take a pay cut and be a Rebel in 2019. He won’t sit behind Sio instead he will fight it out for the #1 jersey with Faulkner & Saaga.

Strong mail. Guess you have a good source for this?

When I look at the Rebel front-row stock, Can't see them needing another LHP. As you say; Faulkner and Sa'aga. THP has Ainsley, Talakai, Pone, and Lorenzo, and Mees. That's a fair few front rowers? T-Bone is in the mix, but talk of him heading to Japan.

Back on brumbies topic; what side did Mees plan, and where does he wantto play?

The talks with the Rebels broke down, but approaching the Brumbies could just be a bargaining tactic............

But as pointed out - the Rebels already have a significant number of props in the squad......... someone might have to be let go.

Better he goes to the Brums than we lose him to Aus rugby altogether, good scenario for all would be Slipper to Rebels (Wallabies get one of their best props starting every week and Rebels scrum improves), Faulkner to Brumbies (great bench option/backup to Sio) and Sa'aga playing backup/learning the ropes behind Slipper.
