For anyone who hasn't seen this hit, I think everyone in QLD has - Gunny could definitely be an option for you lot at 7. Watch / hear him absolutely smash Rod Davies to the roar of the Tigers on the link below.

He was BOG in the premier grade final, first year out of school. Which does not happen often. Highlights below.

Would be sad to see him go, but he will be snapped up by someone very shortly.

Placid goes alright too in that clip, but he's not going anywhere. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong Tranquility, but isn't Gunn in the Reds A team competing in the PRC? Wouldn't that mean in that instance that he is contracted/aligned with the Reds?

He is every bit aligned with the Reds, and I hope we hold onto him forever. But he is not contracted, which means that if an offer where to come about which superseded his current deal he would be free to negotiate. If he were a member of our EPS, which is he could be by the end of the season then it would be a different story. Similar to how you blokes got Nathan Charles.

Henry Speight........ the anti-JOC (James O'Connor)..........

Nice guy Speight winning hearts

He's known by teammates as the 'bro with a fro' but, as these pictures show, his hairstyle is not the only thing Brumbies flyer Henry Speight keeps in shape. He's got abs of steel, but members of the ACT women's sevens team will also confirm Speight has a heart of gold.

Fijian-born Speight answered a last-minute call from the ACT sevens team to present the players with their jerseys. As he was leaving, he went via the bar and paid the team's meal and drinks tab and without anything further, disappeared home. It's not a one-off, Speight is one of the nicest guys in Super Rugby.

On the Brumbies' flight to Wellington, Speight helped every female and elderly passenger around him get their bags out of the overhead locker. And after the Brumbies beat the Hurricanes 29-21, Speight delayed a stirring rendition of the team song after signing autographs, meeting fans and was the last one back to the change rooms.

So is Michael Smith, worth a look at as a 7, I thought Bulter/Fardy/Mowen all did a good job covering for the lack of a fetcher.

Hey you think the brumbies might bring in G Smith as a specialist coach for our 7 Butler ? Could really give him some focused advice from one of the best

Smith joins Lyon around May, so it's more likely he will be busy getting R&R with his family.

Buttler isn't a 7, so he's not a long term option there unless the Brumbies play a style of play that has no fetcher / linking openside / breakdown pest. They are lucky that Fardy is handy enough at the breakdown to cover their lack of openside at the moment.

Thats it Fardy would be the most annoying 6 in the world.. and long term im Pocock still our man.. But if smith can help Bulter even be more like a 7 it may help..

I think we will play like England and just pile in and smash every breakdown.. no one steals a ball when bodies are flying over the ruke.. Aluera will increase that game plan
