British & Irish Lions tour of New Zealand (2017)

Wondering if I need to call 111 and get an ambulance down to Eden Park to remove the obstacle that seems to have got lodged in the refs throat in the 79th minute.

I like to watch

More proof that the Rugby Gods are not always fair.
Now kiwi supporters have an inkling on what Kaplan did to Tah supporters quality of life for years :)

All Blacks skills in the first half let them down, they should have put them away there. Lions defence was good in the 2nd half, their attack was never too threatening. Terrible end result, no one likes a draw. Why no extra time or decide on points differential? :(

Player A knocks ball forward.
Player B, standing in front of player A, touches ball.
Referee calls offside, penalty - correct call.
Referee changes call to "accidental offside" & scrum.

Way to fuck a series, Poite & Ayoub.

That's a man that rewards a 9 for deliberately throwing the ball directly into a man lying on his stomach. He rewarded a 9 that literally spent 5 seconds not trying to clear the ball and threw the ball at the fucking ground.

That's a man that bottled it at scrum time when the Lions clearly could not take a straight scrum. That's a man that stopped play to award a penalty, then went to the TMO. There you will find a man that is too scared to voice an opinion. There goes a man that is too scared to blow the final whistle.

It might be best he doesn't take a test in NZ for a while.

Well done Lions for drawing the series in the All Blacks backyard. The bleating from the Kiwis regatding the ref will be hugely entertaining. Let's see if the kiwis follow the advice they dish out to Aussie supporters when they have gripes against the ref, derserved or not.

AB's threw away too many chances, last pass errors were endless. They should have put this away in the first half.

Lions to be fair played well. Let's be brutally honest though, they rode a wave of fucking fortune. Couldn't stand their bullshit at lineout time. Defended better than any other test side that's for sure. They had a weaker scrum. Eh.

Gah!

And wallabies.
Still Crockett should have been penalised for every scrum he packed in, so in a very Gaulish outcome right result for the wrong reasons

With no due respect, bollocks. Go rewatch those scrums. Sinkler literally cannot scrum. He either doesn't take the hit at the start or he goes full 85 degrees to the ground. A scrum cannot stand up with that technique.

It might be better he doesn't take a test anywhere, ever again. And as for Ayoub, well, words fail me.

Easy to be gracious when winning everything all the time. That Zen composure and sage advice will get a test this time.

Crockett packed with his shoulders lower than his hips in every one, as he always does.
He got lucky in one and jagged a penalty, in another he placed his forearm on his own leg - instant unarguable penalty for the last 10 years but Poite would not know a tram was up him until the bell rang.

Pretty sure old George agreed with Poite's initial penalty decision. IIRC it was in the ~5 seconds it took him to walk over and give the final ruling, after conferring with Ayoub, that le Poite decided to commit the greatest act of terrorism on NZ soil some other Frenchmen visited in 1985.

Fair result. From 12-9 NZ always looked like they were shit out of ideas. Lions D absolutely awesome. How the FUCK did they get so organized on such short notice? You know theyre tough when NZ resort to trying to milk scrum penalties. NZ had given up at the end there.

Goodbye Jules. Had his chances to write his destiny and flubbed his lines.

Goodbye Dagg. Jordie is #15 now and you’re just not threatening enough to be an AB winger.

Yes the frog ref shat the bed but we all knew he would. Same as the other frog clown from last week. Kind of surprised that people are surprised it happened. He just did not want to be The Guy who gave the series deciding penalty. Not the french way to stand by your convictions. Would rather give it the ol' gallic shrug and settle for the draw. Sort of glad it didn’t end on a "contentious" penalty though, that would’ve only led to the mass depletion of MS Paint arrows.

So who changed his mind? I thought Ayoub but if not then OK but who? Regardless, it's a shit decision &s you've gotta wonder how it can happen.
