WESTCOMBE RANGER

Allen Oxlade (6)

Just to let you know - Am not an expat -Am a POM with a son playing in Brisvegas. Regret I can't supply any better match reports than you can get hold of. All I get from my son most weeks is we stuffed em up front, didn't play as well as we can, but still won (lol). Am hopeful of getting a good one from Spectator for the Eats v Uni game in a week or so, if that may interest you. Who does your nephew play for ?

Rankings after round 13

1. (-) University 46.53
2. (-) Sunnybank 45.27
3. (5) Easts 42.53
4. (3) Brothers 41.95
5. (4) Souths 41.77
6. (-) Sunshine Coast 39.46
7. (-) GPS 38.10
8. (-) Gold Coast 35.45
9. (-) Wests 34.50
10. (-) Norths 34.45

No real surprises this week with the close game between Brothers and Easts the only match up that went against the prediction. Sunny Coast proved their place in the rankings was not a fluke with the convincing drubbing of Wests. Ratings stayed relatively stable.

The Ratings Predictor got 4/5. The only miss was Easts getting up over Brothers. Season so far (since rnd 2) = 37/59 (62.71%).

Prediction for round 14 -
Close game for Easts at home, but they fail to beat Uni
Sunnybank will dominate at GPS's home
Brothers should break their losing streak against Wests at Sylvan Rd
The Goldie will win at home, continuing Norths losing streak
Souths will put one over the Sunny Coast, deflating their puffed chests from round 13

Had a couple busy weeks, so was unable to post after rnd 14 here it is:

Rankings after round 14

1. (-) University 47.88
2. (-) Sunnybank 43.85
3. (4) Brothers 42.78
4. (5) Souths 42.47
5. (3) Easts 41.18
6. (7) GPS 39.52
7. (6) Sunshine Coast 38.75
8. (-) Gold Coast 36.05
9. (10) Norths 33.85
10. (9) Wests 33.67

Predictor got 4 out of 5, with Sunnybank failing to win over GPS, are we seeing a resurgence of GPS?

Season so far (since rnd 2) = 41/64 (64.06%).

Prediction for rnd 15 would have been: (all home team wins)
Close game for Brothers and Souths... Brothers to win
Close game for Easts and GPS... Easts to win
Not a close game for Sunnybank and Gold Coast... the Bank to win
Not a close game for Sunny Coast and Norths... the Stingrays to win
Not a close game for University and Wests... Uni thrash Wests

So how did Round 15 turn out?

Rankings after round 15

1. (-) University 47.88
2. (-) Sunnybank 43.85
3. (-) Brothers 43.45
4. (-) Souths 41.80
5. (6) GPS 41.72
6. (7) Sunshine Coast 39.07
7. (5) Easts 38.98
8. (-) Gold Coast 36.05
9. (10) Wests 33.67
10. (9) Norths 33.53

Predictor got 4 out of 5 again with Easts failing to GPS. Two upsets by GPS in consecutive weeks sees them surging up the rankings, gain over 3 and half ratings points in two games.

Season so far (since rnd 2) = 45/69 (65.22%).

The red heavies really have pulled away from the rest of the bunch, and look sure fire favorites for this year. How does round 16 shape up then?

Prediction:
GPS will surely win against the Goldie
Brothers will surely win against Norths
The East West battle? Maybe Wests will surprise us with an upset, but Easts should win.
Uni will surely win against Souths
Sunnybank will surely win against Sunshine Coast.

Rankings after round 16

1. (-) University 48.91
2. (3) Brothers 43.91
3. (5) GPS 41.92
4. (6) Sunshine Coast 41.74
5. (2) Sunnybank 41.19
6. (4) Souths 40.76
7. (-) Easts 40.13
8. (-) Gold Coast 35.85
9. (10) Norths 33.07
10. (9) Wests 32.52

Predictor got 4 out of 5, with the only miss being the crushing... let me repeat...crushing defeat of Sunnybank by the Sunny Coast. 8) The Sunshine Coast are officially over the 'break-even' mark (all teams begin at 40 points) for the first time in three years, and achieve their highest ranking (fourth) to date also. The Bank suffered as a result dropping three rankings in the close group to fifth. GPS still continue to surge in ratings.

Season so far (since rnd 2) = 49/74 (66.21%) - getting closer to a 2 out of 3 rate.

Prediction for rnd 17 is mostly for home teams to win (Wests the only exception)
Close game for Brothers and Sunnybank... Brothers?!
Close game for Easts and Souths... Easts!
Sunny Coast and Gold Coast... Sunny Coast. Go you good thing!
University and Norths... University. yawn...
GPS and Wests... GPS. yawn x2...

Rankings after round 17

1. (-) University 48.91
2. (-) Brothers 44.34
3. (-) GPS 42.28
4. (7) Easts 41.28
5. (-) Sunnybank 40.76
6. (4) Sunshine Coast 39.85
7. (-) Souths 39.62
8. (-) Gold Coast 37.74
9. (-) Norths 33.07
10. (-) Wests 32.16

Predictor got 4 out of 5 - even picking brothers over the Bank (which I would have thought was going the other way), My Sunny Coast boys let me down. The Sunshine Coast with their loss drop down the rankings to sixth. S'bank ratings have really dropped off - maybe knowing they have made it to the finals? GPS on the other hand (as has been noted elsewhere) have made their late rush for the finals. The game of the round will surely be the Sunny Coast playing GPS.

Season so far (since rnd 2) = 53/79 (67.09%) - hit the two-thirds rate!

Prediction for rnd 18 - four out of the five teams on 47 pts on the table should win! with the only loss predicted to be to the SC who face another 47pt team. It will go to for/against and if that is drawn, it will be a count of tries scored, and then to a coin toss! Anyone ready for a try fest?!

GPS take SC - NOOOOOO!!!!!!
Easts take Norths
Souths take Wests
Brothers take Gold Coast
Uni takes Sunnybank
