Question about the Brumbie's disallowed try...

The ball was kicked by the Blues and has rebounded off Fardy's legs..

When does that not become a "charge down" but a kick?

I was thinking the same thing. I think the video ref was only asked if To'omua was ahead of the kicker so the ref (it seems) has already decided he "played" at the ball. It was really one that could've gone either way. The biggest problem I have, is that it was long arm penalty, surely it was an accidental offside.
