A long time ago, he'd be over 30 and has been out of the game for a while, can't see him being anything like his former self

Qwerty, Brad Mika is right on 30yrs, so I dont see age as a huge factor, but maybe being out of it for a while will be, I'd reserve judgement till I see how he goes given he's a bit of an unknown in terms of form with so little to go by.

On paper the Blues should win this comfortably.
Might have to revise this after looking at the Crusadrer's line up. Even without the two big guns they still look bloody awesome. Lots will depend on how Bleyendaal goes at 10 I guess.

Mr and Mrs Whitelock are providing 20% of the Saders team and the word is that the youngest, who I believe will debut if he gets on the park, is the very best of them. Scary stuff if one family can provide the black and reds with that much resource. Commentators will have their problems too - like commentators did trying to separate which Ella was which. In the old days the commentators usually gave up and just said "Ella to Walker to Ella to Ella, wrap around to Ella, inside ball to Ella, try!"

Interesting to see how both 10's play in this game. Has anyone seen Hobbs play this year, yet to see much of this kid.

Tyler Bleyendaal is a star in the making, been one of their best in trial games so far and has been earmarked as a player to watch for a few years. Hobbs for the blues is one of those injury prone players, wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't last the game. I prefer Crotty to SBW too, crotty played great rugby for Canterbury in itm cup, has been around a while too.
Crusaders by a few points.

Blues in but holy crap they nearly butchered it, its getting checked but I'd say try. Commentators say a new even slower cam is being used. Poor kick from Dagg. Honesty thought we shouldve been pinged for a knock on just after the line-out but its more than leveled out for the Blues with that try.

Good bounce back from the Saders from Robbies kick & the scrum 5m out is a great result from that little passage of play.

Slo-mo replay of the Saders scrum, not bad. Blues holding their own quite well.

Saders penalty kick, 7-3 to the Blues.

Blues in again, great powerful running from Ranger. Blues certainly in control. Conversion not successful 12-3 Blues.

Blues in again after a Crusaders penalty.

Blues look very very dangerous on attack, especially with some room on the counter. Ranger looks particularly dangerous.

Another 'Saders penalty takes it to 12 - 6 to the Blues after 14 minutes. Exciting game so far, although the last penalty was very soft by the Blues after the Crusaders were going nowhere.

Nice penalty conversion from Bleyendaal, 6-12 Blues.

Nice tackle from Hobbs on Dagg but Ellis does I good touch finder for the Saders.

Counter rucking from the Saders! I always find that a welcome sight, need more of that.

'Saders doing lots of kicking, particularly from Ellis. Been pretty accurate so far, but the 'Saders don't look dangerous yet. Still look like the usual slow starters.

Fruean strolls in for a try after an overlap. Raikuna bought a nice Fruean dummy. Should've bought Fruean for my Fantasy Team over tits for hands Ranger, damnit!
