True. But Wright is not a Waratah which I think is BRs real gripeTo be fair on this, neither is Liam Wright who is BRs preferred 7 - although I am not advocating to drop Hooper.

Fair point - Maybe nassirini (sorry forget how spelt) at 8So you'd go back to the same backrow as Bled 1. Not sure Rennie will roundabout back to that, it was clearly missing something he wanted, he's more likely to keep trying out different combinations.

His time will come. After a very impressive super rugby campaign he didn’t do himself any favours a few weeks back. I’m sure we will see him in the next month or so, as a 6.
I would guess that the challenge for Hoopers spot will come from McReight first.

Ah, so we're judging Steve Tandy on his 2020 Scotland performance, rather than his 2019 Waratahs performance? I seem to recall we weren't a defensive juggernaut on our way to a 12th place finish.
In reality judging specialist coaches from afar is a mug's game. Sure you can make some wider observations but it's hard to actually know who is good and who is lucky.
It's definitely not luck. Scotland conceded fewer points in this year's 6N than any other side has in the past five seasons.
Since 2000, Scotland have conceded an average of 124 points per Six Nations campaign. Only once, in 2006, have they conceded less than 100. Last season they conceded 128, the season before that 126.
This season they only conceded 59 points, the best defensive record of any team in the Six Nations. Even more remarkable when you consider the winner of the 6N tends to concede an average of about 70.
