Kurindrani is only twenty five and may I point out that up till now he would have been one of the first we all would pencil into the starting side. Before the game he was the light in the tunnel and now after one horrid game he seems to be the oncoming train

Can't agree about the 'one horrid game' sorry. Whilst this was clearly his worst he has been - at best - average for many tests. By bringing up that he's only 25 I think it screams even more that it's time for a spell on the sidelines. Then he can prove if he's good enough to be reselected in the future.

Your comment would be a lot better without the condescending/sarcastic "Messiah" bullshit.
A good point, but in a team which misses over 30 tackles nobody can be selected for defence. The whole structure and the individuals must be examined. On form Kurindrani was the third best 13 in Australia after an admittedly very poor Super season. Add to that he was average against England this year. It may just be Larkham's woeful attack structures impacting his attack at both the Brumbies and the Wallabies.

Probably over the top but sorry after last night's rubbish, I don't see anyone being the saviours ;)

Fair enough

Folau should have stayed on the wing with a roving commission like Digby. Then at least we could use him for cross field kicks - oh wait we need a flyhalf who can kick for that.

Yes - what happened to cross field kicks? in 2013 that was pretty much a guaranteed try when done near the try line

Yes and he is not that bad - he needs to learn to put touch on his kicks.
We really need a full-time good kicking coach - Jonny Wilkinson maybe?

Compared to the likes of Dagg, Ben Smith and Johan Goosen, he is indeed 'that bad'. We have been shoehorning him into 15 on the basis that he has unmatched high ball catching prowess. Fat lot of good it did against England, when he elected to watch them bounce instead.

If you did you would know we simply dont have players with sufficient skills and development to compete at the same level.

I dont think there is much realisation of how dire the situation is, and it may be something Australian Rugby never recovers from. The lack of funding, the competition for talent from the other football codes, the damage done by administrators to the development of the game from schoolboy level up all make it very difficult to imagine an Australian team competing for the number 1 spot in the future.

Watching the Boks v Pumas game this morning, I think a realistic expectation for this season is for the Wobblies to aim to win the home game against the Pumas - even that will be a challenge.

thats it mate accept the lack of tackling and commitment what drivel you have obviously accepted losing too easily all your life mate - it's not the size of the dog in the fight!!!

Get rid of the old, useless and uncommitted - play the youth in their specialist positions and build for the future not let the past drag us further behind - that team is paid over $8m - have a look at how the Esposito family performed on their budget - training, commitment and ticker.

You don't think the poms have other sports to compete with - that side would have lost to Japan, Tinga or Samoa last night - they got none of the basics right.

End of rant!!![/quote]

I think the aru does realise how dire things are and why trying to act on it after years of ineptitude and wasted opportunities to capitalise on past successes. Left it so late after decades of neglect is why so hard now but rugby desperately needs a major over haul and revamp (and clean out probably as well of key administration roles at hq and at state level). Need people with the skills to execute strategy not just those who can develop strategy.

I'd throw the bathtub and even my rubber ducky out.

Structure it correctly is more what I'm saying.

Use the 33 man squad for next weekend, make a few changes, both unforced and forced, including dropping the Pooper from the starters, and bringing Coleman and Cooper into the team.

For the rest of the rugby championship, bring back the 3 boys in the original squad (Toby, Frisby and Morahan), as well as bringing in Speight and Hunt to the squad as injury replacements. Give guys like Kerevi, Hodge, Timani and Chibba a chance during this time.

For the last Bledisloe and the November Tours, the overseas boys won't be available. Bring a now eligible Sefa into the mix.

Pocock is gone on Sabbatical after the last Bledisloe. "Rest" Moore, and rest Kuridrani for the EOYT. Overseas players won't be selected. Name Hooper Captain for the outbound and inbound tours. With the exception of one or two, only select players of the right age to be playing in Japan 2019.

When the June tours roll around next year, and what you're playing is Fiji, an us weakened by Lions duty and a debutant international coach, and whoever else is coming, a similar squad, with Moore and Kuridrani being brought back into the squad, but not necessarily the match day side.

Straight to November Tour stuff next weekend is reactionary, and, particularly if nothing improves, won't do anything but shatter the confidence of some boys with a lot of potential.

Yes I have found his form (outside defence) been ordinary for some time - he needs to be dropped and fine his old form to justify being reselected as to keep playing him after some pretty ordinary performances for some time does not seem very progressive.
