A big crowd is expected. Woollahra 1 Oval is not known for hosting large spectator crowds, so get there early if you intend to go and witness the Convicts retain the Bingham Cup. The Sydney Convicts are guaranteed to have a team in the final of the Cup.

This is the 1st ever Bingham Cup for the Brisbane Hustlers.

Outstanding tournament. Poor weather did not dampen spirits.

Kudos to the Organising Committee, Volunteers, Administrators, Bill Pulver (and ARU), Nick Farr-Jones (and NSWRU), NSW Rugby Referees Association and all others involved.

Went down to Woollahra for a bit this morning for a rugby fix before going to the Stars game. Never seen such a great crowd and atmosphere at Easts, and was really impressed by the standard of rugby played - attacking intent, up tempo and good skills all round. When the NZ Falcons threw a crook lineout, I yelled "not straight", and the bloke next to me turned to me and said "we know"!

Also, not once did I feel uncomfortable as a straight guy at the Bingham Cup. It was pretty clear that most people were there for the footy, and everyone was in good spirits. You could have dropped me there with no context, and based on the games played and crowd participation, it could have been any rugby tournament in the world.

Congratulations to the Sydney Convicts, Woollahra Council, NSWRU, ARU and everyone else involved with the tournament. This is what rugby is all about.

Back when I was playing subbies I played the Convicts a couple times. Great group of guys, with some pretty handy players. The games were never easy; they didn't like to lose!

Congratulations to them, good to hear they have won the Bingham cup again.
