Hi Fellow Rugby Fans,

Firstly I have just joined Green and Gold Rugby and was unable to find an answer to the above question after a quick search through the forums. If this question has already been covered please point me to the right thread and accept my apologies. I am looking for a good place to watch rugby after work on Friday. So far I have tried Zi Bar (opposite central station) and The Pig and Whistle (riverside) and both have been ordinary to say the least. Does anyone have a good suggestion of where to watch rugby in the city?

Cheers Mica

I watched last weeks game at the Pineapple hotel in Kangaroo Point. One of the rare pubs that will have the sound on in my experience, expensive drinks & food though & a bit of a concrete & metal tomb like feel to the joint. I watched a game at the old Dooley's hotel a couple of years ago, ditto with the sound. They are all pretty ordinary though..... I miss the Adrenalin Sports Bar so much.
Normanby and Exchange are full of drunken mugs.

there are no decent pubs left in brisbane. they were all torn down during the '80s in the middle of the night by the deen brothers.

Mica, never fear, help is near, G&GR will find somewhere for you to enjoy your rugby. Welcome, by the way.

Does the Story Bridge Hotel in Kangaroo Point show Super Rugby matches? They should.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the suggestions.

The Exchange looks like it is worth checking out so I'll give it a spin. It'll be interesting to see how many drunken mugs there are at 4:30pm :puke:

For those interested I will reply back with my review as a rugby watching venue, though I am sure it couldn't be worse than my 20 minute wait for 3 pints at the Pig and Whistle last week (with only one person in front of me) ::) ???
