Best club rugby side 1-15 in Australia

Souths rugby of the 1990s would be hard to top in terms of lineups 1-15 Kefu, Horan, Little just some of the names . there was a few reds players playing reserve grade at that club considering how stacked they were.

but you’ll never see lineups like that anymore. Club rugby was the weekend commitment where as playing for qld or nsw usually involved mid week fixtures. rep players just don’t play club rugby anymore.

I can point out some pretty sick lineups at wests or brothers as of recent years but their wallabies barely ever get the leave pass to come back and play qpr so I don’t know if they’d count

Yep agreed.

Is this being assessed as the best 1-15 who've actually taken the field together? If so, you'd be hard pressed to look past many of the great teams during the 80s-90s.

If we are simply talking about names who've all been signed up for the same club in the same year, there are some very strong recent teams with a heap of Wallabies that never actually took the field that season.

1986 to 1990 Souths in Brisbane. Under the great Gary Bird.
To start with up front they had - Crowley, Lawton and Lawton - Wallaby Front row. Horan and Little in the centres outside John Mulvihill. Brett Johnstone reserve halfback, Garrick Morgan in Colts on the bench, David Codey Wallaby skipper. Brett Free on the wing - Lightning fast. Anthony Knox (Reds) on the other wing. Tait at Halfback (Reds). R Tombs and Ken Wills (Reds). Troy Coker and Sam Scott Young. Doug Cooper the crazy big Pommie.
Too many other greats names to remember for this old head.
