Philips and Farrell off. One played like a guy who's had previous Lions experience and someone who's favourite to make the test team. The other played like a guy on debut who no one expects to start the first test v Aus. Philips excellent, Farrell very poor.

Haha, love when they wind themselves diving on the ball. Rookie error.

Mike Phillips has been impressive.

Cuthbert enjoying a good last quarter. In for 2 now.

Any excuse to post an ARC video. Love Smokin' Joe.

LMAO, loved it "Rokococo hits the jets - try". :D

I also particularly liked how the French No.7 is just wandering off up field aimlessly.

Yeah, all of the ARC videos are pretty amusing. Can whip that one from 2007 out for the 2013 series :)

Lions were as good as they could be expected to be. Bit of a match fitness one that game. A few stand out performers securing spots though. Baba's had a bit of a meander really. Look forward to the series proper.

Certainly not the best performance from the Lions but it was a good run out for a first game of the tour. Now as usual it's about who can get up to speed quick enough to form effective combinations and nail down a test starting spot. A lot of the guys who started tonight, and were not penciled in as test starters, will have one more chance to impress before they are assigned the status of likely dirt tracker.

Yeah, not much to take out of that game really. Baa Baas had some sparks but as a total unit not enough to be really competitive. Night all.

Just a few comments on the game:

Phillips is a really good rugby player, but his basic scrum half skills are very poor. Ben Youngs should be ahead of him but Gatland is a fan
Matt Stevens got beasted by the BaaBaas in the scrum, Graham "you gotta have Vicks" Rowntree should be looking a bit sheepish
Cuthbert looked out of his depth a number of occasions tonight, don't let the try count fool you Tommy Bowe should be in prime position for the 14 jersey
Hogg looked full of energy didn't really work for him tonight though
Lydiate looked like he was trying to play himself into form, wasn't overly impressed should be behind SOB and Croft but he'll be no 1 in Gatlands mind
Tipurics performance cast even more questions regarding why Sam Warburton was made tour captain, he's the 4th best 7 on the tour!
Owen Farrell, well lets just say if Sexton goes down the Lions are up shit creek with no paddle
Hibbard looked decent, but the hooking spot is still probably the most open on the tour.

Hard to know what the Lions can take from this, hopefully the Force front up and we can learn a bit more about the Lions

Every Aussie provincial team will hope Feral lines up against them. They'll niggle the fuck out of him, and his Dad will be too far away to help when he swings

I like to watch

You think he will limit it to one player?
He'll probably give the mascot a gobful as well, when he runs out.
And then to anyone in a red jumper within earshot for the next 80.
