#13 for Combined States

Not sure how this lad missed out on selection in Aus team, like an outside back for Barbarians or reserve at the very least.

Wow that is a pretty impressive highlights package ... more an attacking player than a defensive one ... however certainly capable of some good tackles too

MD you wouldn't be the first and you wont be the last to make that observation. Likewise how on earth Pavlakis wasn't selected beggars belief.o_O .

One seriously has to wonder how much form counted for in the championships and selections.

Sadly suspect that selectors had their teams pencilled in and horsetrading was done well before a whistle was blown.

Interesting to see on the Waratahs face book page photos of all the NSW Rugby Winners taken at the recently held NSW Rugby Union & Waratahs Awards Night.

Whilst it was no surprise to see Michael Hooper - winner of the Matthew Burke cup for the 5th time, I was however bemused to see Harry Turner ( from the Combined States,( National Schoolboys Team -Eastwood Colts) had won the NSW RUGBY - Grassroots to Waratah's
"Spirit of Rugby" Boys Player of The Year Award!
(Presented by Phil Waugh) this being the same Harry Turner who had been identified as the most accomplished Openside flanker throughout the National schoolboy championship's his performances highly praised on various Rugby media sites including their own Rugby.com) Turner was not the only one from the National Schoolboys championship to receive an award, Donny Freeman from the NSW1 team received " NSW Schoolboy of the year

As much as it's an incredible achievement for both the boys receiving such admirable awards, it must of however, left them feeling (as has me) quite perplexed to how they can be awarded with the highest NSW Rugby awards such as the ones they received -
NSW Rugby
"spirit of Rugby Boys Player
of the year! and
NSW Schoolboy player of the year and yet neither were selected into any of the Australian Schoolboys teams!!
The mind boggles!

All I can say is the rumour that had gone around regarding the Aus schools selectors and deliberations over the openside Flankers especially may not be such a rumour after all!
Selectors having acknowledged the fact they had selected more than a few NSW Boys into both the Aus School and Baba's team, decided to select the openside flankers more on the State they represented rather than on field performance & form (WA and Queensland) the mind boggles to say the least

Nevertheless, a great achievement for the Boys receiving well deserved recognition and award, all the best to them going forward and good luck to Turner and all the 7's boys who are trailing over this weekend, for a spot in the Australian Sevens Schoolboys Team that will be competing in the World Schoolboys Sevens Championship held in Auckland New Zealand later this year.

Let's be honest though. There isn't a "Qld GPS Record" though. Unless you can tell me who held it last and the.n before that?

Great effort for sure but the hyperbole gets us nowhere

Honestly more NSW whingers on this site than sitting in Federal opposition at Parliament House. Don't worry fellas when they get older they will be automatically selected for the Wallabies regardless of their form even now your mate Pulver has resigned after trying to destroy the game.

Schoolboys beating barbarians at halftime.

33-12. Some pretty incredible stuff from the schoolboys players in some of the tries.

They'll give the NZ boys a run for their money.

Came across this video clip of the NZ Schoolboys backline players...

"New Zealand are always expected to bring a strong line-up in the annual schoolboy test match against Australia.

This year, however, the potential starting back line is monstrous.

With most already aligned or signed with professional academies, this could be a special year for the side and will be more than a handful for the Australians, who last tasted victory in the schoolboy test in 2012.

Based on the 25-man squad selected to visit Sydney we’ve put together a highlight reel of this back line, which includes the younger brother of an All Black.

Hold onto you're seats lads! where in for a hell of a game come match day

Kiwi backline look like absolute monsters - but could this play into Australias hands? If they've chosen size over skill (that skill being distribution) I'm confident that our backline has a decent chance to come up with a strong defensive plan - after all, it's not u12s where you can simply pass it to the big guy off the first five and have him run through everyone
