I am there now if anyone would like to catch up for a coffee and a chat? I'm just in the main pavilion with Bob Wallace. Feel free to come say g'day.

What a cracking day in Sydney town. looking forward to getting out to watch some quality rugby, the forwards clash in Game 1 between CS & NSW will be one for the ages I believe.

Also looking forward to Reilly and Pavlakis out to prove a point over selections , both unlucky from what i have seen over the past year.
.... you can add Turner to that list too .....

I didnt say that it couldn't be improved or say most of the stuff you've twisted around into something negative.

Acknowledging the positive influence private schools have on rugby and seeing these Schools Championships as being something positive isnt ignoring anything that is negative within the game.
Pot/kettle.
That is a massive call.
The over influence of private schools in rugby has a lot to do with our current massive issues.

Ok champ, I'll leave you with the dark cloud you feel comfortable with.

You turn every positive into a negative, quote inane gossip and your vision is blinkered by your cynicism.

The governing bodies have a lot of work to do, that's a gimme, but the fact is, schoolboy rugby is a shining beacon in the Australian rugby landscape, especially at the moment, and these Championships are extremely enjoyable for a lot of people.

Over and out.

The NSW1 backs are far superior in terms of their skill and execution. Triston Reilly is having a crack out wide for CS but the NSW backs have too much front foot ball.
The CS team looks like a team that needs more time together. Although biased because I know him, Harry Turner (CS#7) is keeping the NSW1 forwards honest.

NSW1 too strong in first half and speed of their backs with 14.Lloyd and the 13 (Smith or Illias? do not know) set up and scored a couple and then the forwards wore CS down for the rest. Donaldson controlled game while on.
14 Baker tried hard and 15 Pavlakis scored the only try for CS - returned a kick from 40m out beat 2 defenders and out sprinted the third.

Best NSW 1 -10 13 14 7 freeman(2 tires) 8 Rourke (only 1/2 a game) and 20 Reimer

CS 14 15 6

Didn't see the whole game, but seemed a very clinical performance by NSW 1. Outplayed the opposition in just about every position, and without a number of the regular starters on the pitch - Rorke, Frost, Robertson, Hardaker. From what I saw, Reimer, Illias and Lloyd all looked good. I'm not sure that the 10/15 switch b/w Donaldson and Woodcock got the best out of each. For CS I thought Pavlakis and Turner played well in an outclassed line up.

Edit: I think Smith must be out injured as Illias wore 13 and Hunter Myers (Knox) brought in to squad at 23.

Agree thought Moretti was strong also. WHY would the coach swap out Donaldson (who has been the best 10 in NSW all year) to fullback??? Also was underwhelmed by the CS 17 who seems to have a lot of hype about him (needs a lot more mobility)
A very clinical performance by the 1s looking forward to watching the rest of the games.

Looks like the coach is undecided whether Donaldson or Woodcock should be 10. Might have to wait till Saturday to see what he decides.
