A few observations for the week. The NSW 1 lads did not deliver and how is it that the coaches are not held accountable for a clear lack of game plan? NSW 2 were sensational and well deserved champions. There will always be random selections in the state team rosters and then in the Australian teams. It is tough on boys who a genuine players who miss out for no apparent reason, but there are some good news stories. The former is Fenn who is very hard done by, the latter is Suttor who was best forward in final. For those who didn't make it but played a team game rather than an individual game, your time will come. Talk of bias to selections because of Qld and ACT selectors must be balanced by the fact that NSW1 was missing something all week and were out coached and out enthused. Very pleased YJW selected after seeing zero ball today.that in itself tells a story.

Totally agree re the coaches....talent to work with and left them clueless...l
Feel sorry for the parents from cranbrook and newington who put their hard earned in for that sort of coaching.....no wonder we have no hope agai st the kiwis

Thought Lachlan Day played a blinder against Vic today [some highlights to follow]. Glad McTaggart & Rixon picked for Barbars, they are attacking geniuses.

This tournament was not one for tall athletic locks. Frost did well today and forced NSW2 to go long in line out regularly... He deserves his spot in the Ba Baas

Kemeny from Cranbrook was desperately unlucky.. Vic hooker certainly deserved his spot. He was everywhere against qld1 on first day

Yes but there is no point in picking sub standard players from other states just to make the aru happy !! The schools team should be the best players not some political joke !!! Nz are going to destroy this team !!

The coaches had no idea for both teams. Hopefully NSW start afresh next year.

Theres more to playing lock than standing in a lineout..scrummaging tackling cleanouts all of which there were many better players with these skills on display

You should feel for the players who were given the honour of being selected in the #1 team in the state only to have no pattern nor obvious game plan. A team of champions was not moulded into a champion team. You should also feel sorry for boys who are on the receiving end of ludicrous game management. Terry didn't see enough game time, reserve front row had far more urgency, Jeavons Fellows massive impact when on, scrum half substitutions were pointless. Mohi unsighted in final. Couldn't win a line out in the final. Too much stepping inside by blokes headed to league (who ironically got picked) and the most potent weapon YJW didn't see the ball all game. Yes the players play but they have 2 weeks to create a winning culture and that is up to coaching staff. Someone owns that failure particularly as it gives the resultant selection decisions by QLD and ACT selectors an air of credibility. Genuine victims of this coaching shame Terry Fenn Haskins Jeavons Fellows Ongosia Mohi Kemmeny Brown. All deserved better as all quality players who will go on to bigger and better things.

Doesn't justify so many selections from teams that finished 6 or worse. Nice try
