2 mins - a bit of biff - all good.
3 mins - Oz scrum on skates
4 mins - England kick for touch 5 M out - Oz clears Eng all possession.
5mins- England kick through into touch - Oz can't get ball.
6mins - Eng scrum near Oz line - good defence but Oz offside - Eng 3-0.

The only time Oz was in England half was chasing the kickoff.

Oz stuff up lineout still no ball in Eng half

11 mins - Another dangerous England attack and Oz offside again. England 6-0. Looks like Firsts playing Seconds.

14 mins great take by Kellaway but Oz loses ball. Still no possession in Pom half.

England scrum dominant 40 metres out and nearly get
try. Nearly get it anyway on next charge but can't take cross-kick.

Good defence but it will only be a matter of time. Poms too impatient.

17 mins-Oz scrum on their own 5 metre line. Tepai takes ball up with exit run.

18 mins - Deegan gets yellow card for questioning ref. England 9-0. Oz not in the game except on defence.

20 mins- Oz get ball over halfway line for first time with ball, for a few seconds.

21 mins HH gets ball for first time- good charge from LHP Sandell but Oz eventually drop ball.

23 mins big run from scrum by Pom no. 8 but put into touch.

24 mins - Poms too anxious. Oz get PK and have lineout in England half !!!

Lose lineout, Poms too good.

26 mins - Pom lineout and maul drive - big tackle from Tepai stops Poms.

27mins - Pom no. 8 gets card as Deegan comes back. Oz attack near England line through Tepai, but turn ball over.

29 mins - Oz get PK 40 metres out and Deegan slots well. Eng 9-3 - Commentator said he was from SJC Nudgee.

31 mins - Eng charge again - Oz on heels too much. Poms get PK 30 metres out - England miss PG.

33 mins - HH gets Y Card (repeated team infringments).

34 mins - England get lineout near Oz goal line but Oz scrum - lose ball but get reset somehow after Poms get ball.

35 mins - Tuttle clears ball form scrum for half-time. England 12-3.

Poms clearly better team but Oz won't lie down. Will they get tired in second half from so much defending?

Oz have ball only a few minutes in Pom half before the break.

Oz best series of plays and take ball over line

Tepai and Milne hard to handle.

2 mins - Oz turn ball over after Eng dominant on counter ruck.

3 mins - another good England scrum but Poms lose concentration and ball goes back into scrum - reset - then Pom infringe to protect ball.

5 mins - Oz lineout 18 metres out for Pom GLine buy- ref in the way; so Oz scrum 15 metres out. Eng scrum too good and Oz get bad ball.

7 mins - Oz get PK 30 metres out on angle - Deegan hits post and nearly collects ball to score following up - but no. England escape and get 5 metre scrum.

9 mins box kick clears for Poms - HH back on; so 15 men all - Oz looking better team in 2H despite better basics of Poms.

10 mins - good run from Kellaway but Oz lose ball; so Pom scrum.

12 mins - Pom pick and goes - Milne takes high ball but Oz turns ball over again.

14 mins - Pom kicking game a feature - but miss touch with PK.

15 mins - Oz fluff loose ball 15 metres out from their line but recover - lucky.

16 mins - Tepai takes fullback after Deegan kick and Pom fumble - Tepai is Oz's best to date.

17 mins - Eng get FK from scrum - Sandell turns Pom ball over. Henley receives high tackle - Oz lineout on halfway but lose another one.

19 mins - Oz get tighthead but pinged for crossing when they use ball.

21 mins - England put on long maul drive from lineout but turn ball over near Oz line. 5 metre scrum for Oz. Big Faka makes exit run and ball is cleared.

Hanigan storming run to England 30 metres area, but Oz turn ball over again.

24 mins - Big charge from England but luckily forward pass (I thought) - not called and England score - good try though. England 16-3

26mins - Oz ball in Eng half and now near 22 but Jones gives wild pass to avoid going out - England counter- attack and back in Oz half.

29 mins - England scrum on Oz 40 metre line but turn ball over.

30 mins - Eng lineout in Oz half. Excellent hot potato play from England and England score against Aussies now looking tired compared to Poms.

Final score 23-3.

Well done Poms - too good but still made a lot of mistakes and should have done better with the opportunities they had. They were not as good as the team which visited Oz in 2011 IMO.

No mention by Pom commentators that the semi-pro England Academy players were playing schoolboys who have yet to get to their clubs.

A good effort by the Oz boys in those circumstances and had a good third quarter of the game

Thoughts from England Test

Deegan far too deep in attack - schoolboy error. His counterpart in comparison played at the line well.

Moeroa solid but lacking finesse amongst higher company

Milne very poor with four turnovers conceded

Tuttle solid but had dangerous running game nullified by little ball

H Jones poor and looks very much like a rocks or diamonds type of player

Kellaway class act although had little opportunity to assert himself on the game

Fakosilea work rate not high enough at this level. Looks like Tarzan....

Maclean Jones ineffective

McCalman too small at this level. Honest toiler

Attack - Too often one out with little subtlety in game. Very few interchanges of passing amongst forwards made for easy defensive targets for England. England on the other hand were very expressive and creative in attack with poor over zealous finishing robbing them of deserved scores.

Defence - Till the last 5 min Australia were excellent holding out wave after wave of English attack. Poor back 3 positioning from Australia was rarely capitalised upon by the English.
