Gooner, This is for the Opens.

U16's typically follow a similarish format with the tournament in the term3/term4 holidays.

Teams assemble at location on Saturday.
Games on Mon and Tuesday, rest Day Wednesday.
Final Pools game day on Thur and Finals on Friday.

Teams disperse after lunch on Friday.

For the favoured NSW and QLD teams, the Monday game is usually "easy", with the games getting progressively "harder" and on paper the Thursday games are NSW vs Qld in both pools.

I'd imagine that Uncle Lee and others will fire up the National Under 16's thread after the Opens is out of the way.

The perennial philosophical argument is whether NSW enter 3 teams (Schools, Country and Juniors) or 2 teams (NSW I and II) with a Combined states entry to even up the pool numbers.

Time to fire-up the guessing game, (I'm surprised that I got in before you Hugh)
Anyone prepared to offer up some teams, I'm not yet, so I'm happy for others to go first.

Have you seen my footy tipping averages @stokeside?

I'm gonna be the last bloke to put up a team.

Sometime next week if I get time, and no one beats me to it, I may try and post a list of "veterans" returning from last years Aust A and Aust Schoolboys. These are always a good start point for keyboard selectors.

First and foremost we should get the competing team lists up to give the keyboard selectors something to think about.

For any interstate readers. I think the ACT and Vic sides have been announced. Anyone ? Mr google may come to our help.
The QLD trials are apparently on this weekend. I'd expect to see QLR Red and White to be on the Reds website by Monday.
Anyone from WA? How are your preparations going? Any team list?

I think the LLoydies team was posted at #12 on page 1 of this thread.

George Smith can usually be relied upon to knock up a spreadsheet or two with the team lists and other juicy bits of info.

Combined States selections always generate a fair bit of discussion. I can't see it being any different this year.

A source has informed me that Arthur Currie has been invited into the NSWCCC U/18 rugby league team! I wonder if he will take it? Can anyone confirm if he turned up to NSWSRU induction?

NSWCCC are defending Australian champions for the last two years and had nine players selected for Australian Schools last year! There is an attraction here as he is after all a St. Greg's boy.

Great to see Tufui make it into the team. Toloa College in Tonga (Newington's brother school) will surely add him to the honour board in the college church!

And good to see Jennings in the team as well! This lad deserved recognition long ago IMHO! Cream always rises to the top. He will be my smoky for an Australian schools position (either Aus A or Aus)

There are a few boys Newbie who will be going straight to Cairns for the Australian Schoolboys RL Championships after their NSW Union Commitments are finished here, maybe he is one of the boys as well going.
