ABC TV commentators just said that the team would be announced later tonight.

I am lead to believe that the selected players have already been told individually but this knowledge has been embargoed.

It was a good win by the NSW lads. The big guns in the backs: McIntyre, Kellaway and Stewart and in the forwards Rorke and Dempsey got the bikkies for NSW. I will be amazed if those 5 are not in the starting Ones team.

Not so many top players for Qld but they got off to such an early start - a cross kick for Placid to run onto to score with Milne standing still - that I thought NSW fans will be in for a long afternoon, but NSW started playing to their potential and took the lead..

I expected Qld team to bounce back but the unusual silence of Qld parents was a portent: NSW were too good. The only thing that kept the score blowing out was that the guys in red were very strong over the ball and snaffled a lot of pill.

The big news of the day was that 12. Moeroa passed the ball for a NSW try; everybody gasped.

More late tonight - have a few things to do before going out to the Tahs game. Oddly, I won't be too disappointed if they lose as I want the Brumbies to do well.

Is Moeroa on an annual ration of passes like Adam Two-Dads?:)

Guess we have to secretly want the Ponys to do well, 'cause they appear to be our only hope in the Finals now.

Just don't announce that support too publicly before our 'Tahs deal to them tonight.

The thing that really impressed me with NSW was the interlplay and offloading amongst the forwards particularly given the muddy conditions. The back 5 were all excellent in this area and some lovely work down a short left amongst the Riverview boys gave Kellaway an opportunity which he took full advantage of to post NSW's first try.

I was there for the announcement of the team. I can't remember the names of everyone, but there are a few people I remember got in. In Australian schoolboys: Dempsey, Whiteley, and Rorke made it from View. Kellaway, Stewart and Horwitz made it from Scots. No Newington boys made the top squad. Shore managed to get 1 in from Combined States. No Joeys boys in top squad. The big controversy/shock of the day, was the lack of Queenslanders in the side, and the inclusion of many NSW 2nds players. Kings got several players in the top squad which was quite surprising considering they were all in NSW 2's. I'm sure they're great players though, Jake McIntyre (Fullback from North NSW) also made the squad, as did Tom Wilson from Barker. Don't know the names of any QLD players that made it, but there were a few, not as many as expected. Victoria and ACT also had a few players in the side, more than expected.
I don't remember too many from Australia A, but I can remember Harry Randal from Kings, Jack Johnson from Waverly, Oscar Prior-Lees from Newington, Tanne Milne from Newington, a few Joeys boys, a few Kings boys, abd a few more Victoria/ACT boys.

In terms of the games I saw: The Tongan Schoolboys smacked our President's XV (a team made up from all out div 2. teams), and NSW won the championship for the first time since 2005 (can't say the same for Origin). QLD started well, but NSW ended up dominating the game. And yes, Tepai passed it, putting Jim Stewart in for a great try. Kellaway scored twice, Dempsey dominated the game and Tom Wilson kicked very well.

The Good, The Bad & the Rugby! Nothing but Rugby love on this Forum. I didn't mean to sound so threatening at the end of my last post, that was not my intention. Apologies if I offended anyone. While I may not agree with a lot of views put forward (as some may disagree with mine) I do respect everyone's right to their opinion. Good luck to all the boys with selections today! As long as Hemopo makes one of the squads I'll be happy.

he made one of the squads....didnt bother to ask which one though

Quite profound El. Are you in the know or just a dorm mate?
I agree the kid can play, but does Uncles Lee, and more importantly Manu agree?
We shall see. I think he is the right man.

Just in the know.... its the newington game this year in gps footy that won me over where he played 90% of the game with a broken nose and still managed to have an impact, looking at these lists i dont believe another player would be able to replicate his passion for the game

Tongan boys went well today! I got talking to one of the relatives of one of the Tongan boys and was informed that the team was mostly lads from the King' school in Tonga called 'Toloa' and it's arch rival, a school called 'Atele'. Atele would be akin to a NSW Sport High School.

They hate each other with the fire of a thousand suns, nevertheless they worked well together today. Unfortunately I now have to head up to the Dark Code national champs (which kicks off tomorrow) so I am going to miss out on the Tongan games; and given their performance today it will be a pity.

Yeah where we're you? I was one of the runners and had negotiated a 'piece rate' as opposed to 'hourly rate' with CTPE, and earned SFA for the day. Not happy Jan :)
Haha! I was there [minus Southern Districts Attire] I got a good vantage point on the Hill. Sorry to disappoint fellas.

Tomasi,

Were you on the hill near the Book Depository, The Observatory, The Lavatory or The Suppository?

Shame that the 1/2 time Main Event between the Wise Ones and Frodo'a'lia didn't go ahead. I reckon CTPE was chicken.:)

Word of mouth at the moment I think ippylad. Up the range boys faired well, TGS 1 in the Schoolboys, 2 in the A's. Downlands one in the A's.

Ah i see, also Jack Corneislon made one of the teams not sure which one but, good work from the boys from toowoomba looking forward to seeing some good games from TGS this season, would those players be Placid, Bougoure and Potgieter?
