Doesn’t it all start to add up though?
- NZ organise their own tour with SA
- Knock back the Anzac idea
Now this. The timeslot for the afl granny has been locked in for ages. Surely RA would’ve have been saying “any chance you can help us out and push it back a couple of hours?” And NZ have basically said “yeah leave it with us…”.
All revenge for us stealing the 2003 WC games from them isn't it?

What has been said, at least from RSA is that they want to play 1 test against Australia in 2026, but won’t be 2 against each country. Whether this one off test against Australia or a truncated TRC hasn’t been determined as it would require NZRU arranging same with Arg as well. Argentina rugby chairman didn’t have nice things to say about NZRU over this topic.

Ultimately NZRU and RSA are prioritising their little tour at the expense of the TRC.
While I can understand some people's angst, is AB/Wallaby test just once a year going to be a bit refreshing? I realise that some are saying that we finally having a good RC, but noone knew that last year when these decision's made. In fact many on here were suggesting it needed change didn't they? I do agree NZR and SA have made decision they think is what is good for NZ and SA, but genuinely think that's their job. And as said if Aus win Bled, well that will maybe work in your favour anyway.

It's still likely to be two Bledisloe Cup tests next year isn't it? NZ just won't play Argentina.

Time for a Rugby Ashes? Still can't fathom how the NZRU did not want an ANZAC game.
Could be a very very cool concept if they could swing a good time period for it being here and away every few years. I know theres already a trophy for it but a series like that always drives attention and no doubt revenue. Get some bucks out of the pommys in between Lions tours to Aus. (yes I know the Lions go other places)

The poms absolutely froth at the mouth hearing about a new opportunity to travel to Australia, so it would be a money maker beyond believe I think. Hopefully Waugh and co can cooking something up with Sweeney and sons.

Honest truth mate, I have no idea. I haven't looked at next years draw, and with all league of nations etc etc, I getting lost what's happening.
Mind you, that could just be my age. ;)

So did RA actually ask for time to be changed? If so they got every right to be pissed, Or is that just imagination?

Mind you I just checked and RA have got Perth Bled match at 10.45pm NZ kick off, so perhaps neither board is giving a shit about what suits others supporters?? I mean weren't the Puma games played in afternoon? So I suggest perhaps there is no working in with each other? By playing the Pumas games at 2.30 pm they made them at 1.30 am Argentina time instead of 6-6.30 am Argentina time which must be better. Weren't SA tests played at 5pm? Is there a push to play them earlier (except for Perth test?)

just shows how weak our bargaining power becomes when the onfield performance drops off. You have the Lions threatening not to come to Australia in 2037 and the ABs not wanting to play us.
Winning is the best response to this. easy.

I pretty sure it's not about Wallabies' strength, and no way about ABs not wanting to play them. It's more about changing things up.
Lions talk (and that's all it was) wasn't dropping Aus, more adding France and putting all of us back 4 years.

You sound like my ex letting me down gently. "No! it's not that I don't want to see you, it's more about changing things up!"

I'm pretty sure the talk was dropping Aus - if you're adding France in the 4 year cycle, it is going to play Aus less often

EDIT: on reflection it's not a total drop - but there will be a decrease in the Aus games

Yep John, but also NZ and SA would be decreased too. Be once every 16 years instead of 12. Be honest at my age those things don't worryme.
