Obviously everyone reacts differently but that's starting to get a bit worrying given the number of games he's missing with the current one.
Yeah, concussion are serious.I still remember a story about Anthony Fainga'a and the fact he was sat in a bathroom in Japan, not being able to go into the light. DHP and To'omua are others that coped some bad shots.

If he needs to go through time to return, we should give it to him, even if his Australia 5/8 would rather his healthy then playing.

That would be the concussion DHP received from that massive leading elbow from Jordie Barrett right? Brained him. Still shits me nothing came of that. Ended his career.

Dane Coles had (I think) about a season out due to concussion - everytime he tried to come back and train he would get headaches I believe. Really took a long time. For Noah you hope it is not that bad but also he has to consider the long term outlook - Nic Berry (referee) was playing for London Irish in the UK and had too many concussions so the doctors eventually refused to sign off on him returning to play so had to retire. Hate to see a player end up with long term brain damage because they wanted to keep playing.

Would really struggle to get a baseline with Dane Coles.

Everyone handles them differently and I think it's the difficult part for organisations, fans and the medical teams to deal with. Some guys take shots that would put others out no problem and others get stunned by things that makes no sense. Seems like some peoples brains are allergic to contact if that makes sense.

Has to be a huge psychological effort to return to full contact training and play following a bad one as well. You want to come back badly because this a job and your'e really unlikely to earn this sort of money elsewhere but you are also scared of the long term damage and your future....

Is the juice worth the squeeze? Rugby money is getting to the point of it always being a yes

Maybe for the top tier of players. Probably not for the rest.

I've got to say, the pretty low level of interest in last week's club championship on here and elsewhere on line doesn't fill me with much hope for any future RA club comp.

Even last year there seem to be a bit of a vibe, this year, pretty much nothing?

Is this just the lack of Randwick's involvement?

I am an Eastwood supporter, if the Woodies had been playing, I would be interested. Would have had a look if the Two Blues or West Harbour had played. Otherwise, my interest in watching the cashed up moneyballers is zero.

Yeah, don't care in the slightest. Sucks for the guys and I'm not talking them down but blokes are playing that won't get a look in during the year as well. Norths a few years ago had 3rd grade stalwarts get on the park when they beat Brothers. It feels like a trial with a trophy

Can't see a Club comp being a long term option. It will get some initial buzz as everyone gets out their junior rep jersey that doesn't fit but they wont be there year 2 and so on. Nothing will be sustainable with 1k attendances. Same goes for any new version of the NRC (que sYDneY AlWaYs waNTeD iT tO diE) but never mention the fact a number of players (who ended up in Super Rugby) didn't want to play in it either.

Run it through the organisations already in place. I think the U16, 19 comps have been fun and the 20s matches good as well. Add in a A comp to go 16, 19, A. Can't be giving jobs to every Clubbies when we need to fill 10 squads of 30. Comp standard then drops and won't support developing talent for Super Rugby and the Wallabies. Take the Wallabies out and each A side then pick up the next best 6-7 blokes from Club land and put them in a high performance environment. Earn a shot at a contract at any of the franchises. It won't be a money spinner but neither would the NRC and it would likely cost a shit ton more than using infrastructure already in place. I think we have some fantasy about intimate packed grounds like lower tier UK Soccer leagues but Prem Club around the country now gets okish numbers to support themselves but I can see it being better when Manly play Bond or Eastwood v Vikings...

Yep, and a few of us have been hammering this point for a while on this point that the apparent tribalism and rabid fandom often associated with club rugby is significantly overhyped, if not non-existent in some places/ clubs.

It's amateur rugby with no marquee/ super players available so if your teams not playing could you give a fuck?

However - worth noting it wouldn't have helped that it was delayed a week by the cyclone and played the afternoon before the Reds/Tahs, but not as a curtain raiser.

yeah a few compounding factors there, but playing it as as glorified pre-season trial is the other issue which is hard to look past... Understand there's a number of reasons why playing it following the GF's is difficult and complicated, but playing it the following season when it's a completely new team isn't great either.
