I did appreciate PWaugh's measured comments about the situation and more generally. They've frankly been a breath of fresh air after all the bluster from Hammer and EJ (Eddie Jones) over the last 12 months.
Completely agree. He is a relief. Hamish looks stupider by the dayI did appreciate PWaugh's measured comments about the situation and more generally. They've frankly been a breath of fresh air after all the bluster from Hammer and EJ (Eddie Jones) (Eddie Jones) over the last 12 months.
End of the year deadline I thoughtRA is very quiet about the Director of Rugby at the moment. Thought it was supposed to be announced by now.
Even if Nawaqanitawase never comes back, the situation can be a net positive if it's a catalyst for RA learning from its mistakes.Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) (Nawaqanitawase) going to league ain't the end of the world and we should be focused on how to turn the Wallabies around and who should be the next coach.
Most of our players need what Tim Sheens said when he took over West Leagues?. He had them running and passing at speed all day and one of the players said "Hey coach when do we start practising some moves?" Tim said, "When you learn how to run and pass!"
In the Wallabies' case there is much more than just running and passing.
I read somewhere it's announced next week. Can't remember where tho.RA is very quiet about the Director of Rugby at the moment. Thought it was supposed to be announced by now.
How long has Waugh been CEO and what was his role in RA prior to that?I did appreciate PWaugh's measured comments about the situation and more generally. They've frankly been a breath of fresh air after all the bluster from Hammer and EJ (Eddie Jones) (Eddie Jones) over the last 12 months.
Agreed - he's nowhere near those guys at all. But consider that those guys were not even close to the best players in the team in the 12 months prior to them leaving, but Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) was one of the only two positives for the last 12 months by a clear margin. For example he's no Michael O'Connor or Brett Papworth. We lost both of them and moved on, and they were far better players than Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) (Nawaqanitawase)

You’re about 3 days late.Seeyou Mark....don't let the screen door hit you on the way out......................
There is insufficient detail or background to make any further comment.
What is he going to learn? How to bite in when they are evenly numbered and be scored on the outside? That seems to be the most common defense move from a league wingerFootnote - I reckon every professional outside back and center should spend 2 years in the NRL as part of their development pathway early in their career. Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) (Nawaqanitawase) may well come back from this a better player, we all know his weakness is his defence and maybe Robbo can sort that out for us.
How to tackle properly maybe? What is he going to learn? How to bite in when they are evenly numbered and be scored on the outside? That seems to be the most common defense move from a league winger
How about Ray Price, Ken and Dick Thornett? IIRC all were current Wallabies when they moved across to League. In earlier times, Arthur Summons (I think was the current Wallaby captain) and Keith Holman. There are plenty of others.Agreed - he's nowhere near those guys at all. The fact that RA are targeting the pathways as the root cause of the problem speaks volumes of about our current elite playing group.
If the pathways have failed, then the quality of elite players are not adequate. Our players are bad.
Losing one of the best is worse.
