I have always understood it to be all players in the 23 voting on a 3-2-1 basis.

Not sure I love this voting system, it should be a 3-2-1 total per game, a total of 6 points on offer each match as opposed to the 138 points on offer currently. Still have all the players vote each game, but then it's portioned 3-2-1 for that match.

It just seems a bit of an outlier to me that one player could potentially have won the John Eales Medal by only playing 3 matches in 2022, 3 MOTM performances mind you, but they could have been a dud the rest of the season.

They should enlist the GAGR model (TM). Everyone votes. Top scorer overall for each match gets 3 pnts, next highest gets 2 pnts, 3rd highest gets 1 pnt.

It would be interesting to have all the data and then review it under different methods to see how often that would change the winner.

As the AFL celebrated the Brownlow Medal and its main winter sport’s rival the NRL gathered for the Dally M Medal last September, Australian rugby celebrated its night of nights via Zoom. At 10.30am on a Monday morning.

There should be no surprise about the velocity of media that the Eddie Jones Era has bought - the gnashing of teeth by the mungos is a joy to watch. McLennan is openly mocking them and they don't like it. Í'll give you a list of who you need to call in Argentina / South Australia' bahahahaha

Eddie apparently has his own media team and this is all straight from his playbook.

They should’ve done the awards night during Super Round (at the end?) when all the players were in the same city.

Love to hear that we're in the ear of Sam Walker, recently dropped to NSW Cup by the Roosters, to Rugby. Yes, know his family are died-in-the-wool mungos, but he was very good as a junior at Ipswich Grammar - famously scoring five tries in his last GPS game alongside Kalani Thomas in the halves.

I’m not sure Sam Walker has ‘it’ to be an elite playmaker for a professional team. He’s shown some glimpses during his time with the Roosters, but I feel like Australian rugby has a bunch of serviceable fly halves in our system already and I don’t see what Walker offers above someone like Donaldson or Creighton for example.

I agree, maybe an option for him out west is Pasitoa doesn’t kick on after the knee injury. But would he be ahead of Gordon, Lynagh, Donaldson, Edmed or Lolesio at their respective clubs? No

Correct - not a bad shout about the Force as an option though. But as our friends in WA will attest, getting a Bondi boy to make the jump West would be tough, unless the money is very good, in which case I think RA would likely be overpaying the bloke.

Don’t bother re Sam Walker. I don’t see him being a better Rugby 10 than anyone running around right now. Just because he’s playing NSW Cup doesn’t mean he’s done or on the outer. He’s 20 and already has 50 NRL games. He’s contract extension until 2025 has him on $500,000 as well.

Interesting to see Suali’i kicking for the Roosters this arvo. Hopefully he can make this a good part of his game.

Nelson Asofa-Solomona has re-signed with the Storm until the end of 2027.

Glad we can stop talking about him as a Rugby target for Australia.

Bloody oath. Unlike a couple of posters on here, I'm very accepting of the fact that rugby can gain a lot from certain NRL players making the jump across.

NAS was not one of them. But I'm happy for him and the fact he's likely added an extra $500k to his superannuation via the RA chat.

That's a pretty astounding turnaround. Some excellent test crowds last year would have helped?
