Thought it would be worth to kick the season off with this. First trials come up this weekend, so below is the list I have dug up. Specific teams for these games can be discussed and listed here.

Friday 3 Feb:
- Rebels v Chiefs (Geelong)

Saturday 4 Feb:
- Brumbies v Force (Darwin)

Friday 10 Feb:
- Tahs v Samoa (Tamworth)
- Rebels v Blues (Melbourne)

Saturday 11 Feb:
- Brumbies v Reds (Cairns)

Thursday 16 Feb:
- Force v Reds (Perth)

Friday 17 Feb:
- Tahs v Tonga (Sydney)

Saturday 18 Feb:
- Rebels v Crusaders (Melbourne)

Did I miss anyone? Some tough games there for the Rebels.

Is the 11 Feb game the last Brumbies trial before the seasons starts?

Brumbies have a trial against an ACT xv on the 18th Feb I think

Anyone know if Tonga or Samoa are going to broadcast their matches against the tahs/sydney uni? Feedback from Tah HQ is that they will not even be offering an uncommented stream of any trials so I was wondering if Tonga or Samoa will be broadcasting their national teams playing?

Actually, come to think of it. Will any trails be broadcasted in any format? Inclusive of SA and NZ team trials?

This hardly ever happens. IIRR the Crusaders and Tahs used to have an annual trial Challenge for a trophy and that was broadcast, but now the trophy is given for the result of the annual Super fixture.

Once there was a streaming type broadcast of a Force v. Reds trial (2010?) but everybody knew about that. I can't recall a mention of anything similar for an Oz Super team trial this year. Anybody?

If last year's trial is an indication of what will happen only the western side of the stadium will be open and seating won't be allocated.

Farce. If they want to cater to the normal member demographic, why not play it at North Sydney Oval or Concord. Come to think of it, playing a Friday night game at Coogee oval would be awesome.

Good luck in Coogee finding a park with everybody home from work.

They could take the game to St. Mary's to generate a bit of interest out west, and there's a lot of ethnic Islanders in the area too. It's a wonderful small ground and no trouble with the parking either.

LG,

Do you remember the pre-season tournament played at Coolum where they transformed the driving range into a Rugby field? Back in the late 90's IIRR

A 'like' wasn't sufficient. I understand the economics behind not moving regular season games any further west than the occasional Homebush 'blockbuster', however, if we can't spread the gospel by playing a few trials in western Sydney how do we expect the game to grow there?

Interesting that Fox was actually at the Reb's trial, but can't find anything other then the new shorts. Would have thought if they were there anyway would have been worth the broardcast. Even if it was not live.

I think the ARU or state squads probably don't want full broadcasts.
After all, the games are 'trials' and players are continually changing over. Not only that, but play is very scrappy and i notice in the Brumbies v Force trial that the Force omitted 7 of their front line players from the game.
In other words these are not showcase games & could well scare the sporting public away.
