How did they go with Housten?

This is a player who has been in our matchday 23 for every test he has been healthy for since 2009.

It's not like he's only going to get selected because he had some good form in the English premiership.

They got it right, Housten was considered a solid yet unspectacular backrower for an average team

Beale was described as the type of player who makes the other top players around him look better in one of the best teams in the comp and they really missed him in the final.

I think the big question is where he plays, I like Hunt at 12 and Beale played his best football at 15 for Wasps (and for Aus actually)

If Hunt continues to do well at 12 you could see a backline of:

9. Genia
10. Foley
11. Speight/DHP
12. Hunt
13. Kuridrani
14. Folau
15. Beale

Straight up, the Nabuli pick is bloody daft. I've watched every Reds game this year and last, so I do feel a little qualified.

The kids got skills and can finish a try, but he's simply a dumb rugby player. I'm sorry, but it's true.

He's the type of player that will mis-time his chase off a box-kicking 9, end up 3 metres infront the kicker by the time boot reaches ball, and just keep chasing. All while the referee is screaming "14 NO".

He's the type of player that can't tell the difference between binary opposites. Airborne and grounded; Above and Below the neck; and Onside and offside. There's no difference to this guy.

He's just incredibly stupid and ill disciplined. It's a bit of an oxymoron to refer to him as a professional athlete considering his complete disregard for my sanity as a Reds fan.

That said, if he manages to fix his disciplinary issues he probably won't disappoint.

I think you could have probably summed that up saying he has a lack of rugby- nous and game awareness instead of being incredibly stupid.
I agree he's a quality athlete- but what are his skills beyond athleticism?

I like Beale outside Foley. The Hunt combo is bloody good though not for exactly the same reasons. Hunt has had one test only of course.

All in all its an unexpected, and good, problem to have.

Thoughts on 6/2 or 5/3?

I think 5/3 should be the combination almost always.

I also think the trio of locks of Carter, Coleman and Arnold is pretty good for being sure one of them can play 80 minutes.

6/2 leaves you pretty prone if you have an injury in the backline.

Ahhhh, the dog poster finally makes sense. Cheika wants us to develop a never die attitude so he picks Nabuli knowing we'll have to spend 10 minutes down to 14.

I just hope Quade and Nabuli aren't on at the same time increasing the chance we'll play with 5 backs!

Taking a cynical view- it might be purely to lock him in for elegibility purposes..

I'm backing Nabuli on this one - I think the discipline side of things will be fine in the Wallaby squad. I think the bigger concern, not just for him, is the defensive structure. In that regard, Naivalu would have been my preference. Now someone will probably tell me his defensive stats are crap!

It's actually very similar to the WB team the Scots last met, in the forwards anyway. Backs are better.

It seems a better Scot team though, different game plan under a different coach who looks to have them bought in. Also looks like the Scots have been planning an ambush.

Pre-game thinking is getting interesting.

Just wanted to post a Trump quote guys.

You've got a good side, still off your best though.
