Maybe Christian but not Joe - Hunt isn't THAT fast, is he???

AND the question remains just HOW good will he be?? I mean we all know his talent when at the Broncs, that he had a spell in rugby quite some time ago but to be re-introduced tp the game in 2015 and make the RWC squad is a really big ask.

Maybe he's up for it, maybe not - time will tell, as it always does.

Based on how well Izzy adapted I'm certain Hunt will adept at least as well. Why?

1. He played high level rep rugby as a schoolboy;
2. He was a better NRL player than Folau;
3. He adapted to Top 14 easily in a short time;
4. He adapted to AFL much better than Folau did.

In short he was a better NRL player and has a history of adapting quite quickly.

Aside from the fact that Hunt's potential utility, big game experience and professionalism makes him a shoe in for the RWC squad if he has an at all decent season (assuming he is coming over), I'm pretty sure RWC squads are 35, rather then the cost effective 32 Ewen has been using of late. So yeah, not a big leap at all to suggest he'll be there if he's playing rugby.

I was more just picking backs who currently are in the squad but not in the 23. Tomane was probably a bad choice as I'd guess he'd be playing tomorrow if he hadn't hurt his hammy (but he'll also be one slot down the pecking order once Speight is available).

I don't think Hunt is anywhere near a guarantee to make it but if he comes into Super Rugby and is one of the better backs in the Reds team he's definitely a decent chance.

Actually they may only be 30, that should make for some particularly contentious selections next year

They've been 30 at previous cups. I don't believe there's been confirmation on squad sizes for the next cup and there is an expectation that they will increase because of 23 man teams but 32 would be the maximum I would guess.

Joe Tomane, Christian Leali'ifano... someone on the edge of the squad (if he does at all).

I don't think that is a crazy suggestion. If things go well for him he's an excellent player and he can cover a few roles.

So we've gone from talking about 1 guy who won't be playing tomorrow - Pocock - to talking about 3 guys who won't be playing??

So it is forecast that the prolonged period of darkness that has been the men of Mordor in black will be vanquished by the incoming surge of youthful gold as the dawn of a new day following night.

Yeah I had 35 in my head but I'm guessing that's just because it was the previous touring squad size before Ewen cut it to 32 to save a bit off money.
