How do you get better wallabies? What stops all the Aus sides from signing kiwi 10s? Then who plays 10 for the wallabies?
Or you can pick Kiwis who are or could be elegible like QC (Quade Cooper), Mike Harris or Noah Lolesio. Wait, currently that's what is happening.

And how have the English National football team's performances been with the successful model of EPL??? They haven't won a World Cup since 1966. A powerfull domestic competition with a lot of foreigners meanwhile the National team is average at best.

The ARU has to take the control of that model and limit the number of Kiwis players per team. It have to be something like 80 % Aussies players and 20% Kiwis in Aussie franchises. Or 70/30, I'm not sure
Yeh I agree probably looking at quotas then free for all.

I don't know the answer, but I'm sure some here do.

With the new eligibility rules, how can Aussie Super Rugby teams get ahead of the curve to sign players who want to switch nationalities?

Always the way - probably comes good this season but then we lose him overseas just as he shows promise.

Hmm. I’ve had something of a frustrating “fan relationship” with Jake. Personally tat this stage I’m rejoicing over where he is and where he’s going.

All the very best, Jake.

At least you can use them in their prime years. With the new 5 years law we are going to see more signing of NRL foreigners with the years of residence like Koroibete or Vunivalu

It's already been reported that the Redcliffe Dolphins are interested in bringing Vuunivalu back to the NRL, looks like they're sniffing around Perese as well:
The Dolphins are reportedly eyeing off Wallabies centre Izaia Perese and former Storm winger Suliasi Vunivalu to have a second crack at the NRL in what would be a cross-code coup for the expansion team.

Perese’s rapport with coach Wayne Bennett is seen as a drawcard for the Redcliffe team, according to a News Corp report, and at 24, he would be a much-needed younger player in a roster which has been littered with veterans in the club’s early recruitment drive.

Vunivalu, who scored 86 tries for the Storm in 111 games during a five-year stint which included the 2017 and 2020 grand final wins, has been hampered by a succession of injuries since switching to the Queensland Reds and will be a free agent at the end of the year.

At 26, he still has several years in front of him as a top-class winger in either code. He was signed on a lucrative deal by Rugby Australia and joined a Wallabies squad camp immediately after his switch but the former Fijian league international is yet to make his rugby debut for Australia.

You have got to love the irony

League fans love to have a moan as soon as a Union junior comes back to union. Complaining about poaching and not developing our own talent yet they have such a large amount of juniors and are always going after union players

Vunivalu is on great money and you would think they would want to reduce it, however with Koroibete gone they should have extra wing money available and they really can't lose both!

He's got to become a consistent Wallaby this season otherwise there's no way they can retain him next season on a sizable contract.

It has been a disastrous investment so far.

Agreed but it is only injury (repeated) that stopped that - how is he going on injury front - is he ready to return and when? Is he injury prone? As if breaks down again might be better to offload in any case. Seen little press on where he is at wrt to a return to playing.

It has been injury but that is still absolutely a reason you can't contract him again unless he gets healthy enough to become a consistent Wallaby this season. We can't pay him big dollars based on potential for a third season if nothing comes of the first two.

He wasn't injury prone until his last year in the NRL but now it seems like he is prone to recurring (mostly hamstring) injuries.
