I think Ioane in 22, Mogg 23.

Barnes probably disappointed he can't even crack the "overseas" team.

Based on current form, Betham or Vuna would take the 23 jersey over digby, mogg, and turner. Not sure how Rod Davies is going

So if Pocock signs to stay in Australia, Bernie and Cheika have pretty much admitted that he won't be available for 2017 while he takes a sabbatical.

This is the Wallabies squad of 2017 who won't be playing in Australia:

1. Kepu
2.
3. Holmes
4. Horwill
5. Jones
6. Higgers
7. Gill
8. Pocock
9. Genia
10. Quade
11. Mitchell
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. Tomane
15. JOC (James O'Connor)

16.
17. PAE
18. Longbottom
19. D.Dennis
20. G.Smith
21. To'omua
22. Mogg

Sure a few like AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Giteau and Mitchell might be pushing the age limit, but they were also 3 of the best in 2015.

I reckon the following were certain Wallaby Squad members if not starters. The other blokes are basically on the fringe and some of them a long way from even there.

Kepu
Holmes
Genia??
Mitchell
Gitwau
Pocock
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
To'omua
Tomane

The Aussie team will get better then they currently are soon, with eventually greater O/S depth than NZ

Ulugia and Hegarty play in the Top 14. Edmonds plays for an average Pro D2 side..

Willie Heinz over Cowan
Tom Marshall over Kahui
Mike Fitzgerald over Clarke
Nasi Manu over Thomson
Hosea Gear or Zac Guildford over Halai

Nasi over Thomson is an interesting one. Nasi isn't best 15 at Edinburgh. Thomson is best 15 at the Rebels.

Either way, surely just saying Europe would make everything easier to compare. How well the Japanese based players are playing in comparison to their counterparts is difficult to figure out, and those in other Super Rugby sides are more or less still here.

Yeh, based in Europe would be easier.

No way you can justify guildford over halai, as halai has been noted as playing strongly in europe whilst guildford has barely played.

Forgot about marshall and heinz . good call.

I'd go Ulugia over edmonds aswell in hindsight.

Kimlin over Pyle, or Houston.....

Houston has been noted for how well he's gone in the UK, whilst Kimlin hasnt been getting much of a mention. Also thinking, that off the bench for 20 minutes, houston should give you more bang for your buck.

From what I've randomly seen recently, chisholm actually might get a nod ahead of either kimlin or pyle

Saffer overseas side

1. Steven Kitshoff
2. Bismarck Du Plessis
3. Jannie Du Plessis
4. Flip van der Merwe
5. Juandre Kruger
6. Francois Louw
7. Willem Alberts
8. Duane Vermeulen
9. Ruan Pinenaar
10. Morne Steyn
11. Bryan Habana
12. Jean de Villiers
13. JJ Englebrecht
14. JP Pieterson
15. Johan Goosen

16. Schalk Brits
17. Guthro Steenkamp
18. Brian Mujati
19. Paul Willemse
20. Juan Smith
21. Sarel Pretorius

that OS Saffer side is tight. they should just save money on airfare and play that on the end of year tour

An europe based Sanzarr team to play the British & Irish Lions at Twickenham. Now that would be a game.

1. Ayerza 2. Duplessis 3. Kepu
4. Matfield 5. Horwill
6. Alberts/ F.Lobbe 8. Vermulean 7. Louw
9. Genia 10. Carter 12. Nonu 13. Smith
11. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 15. Piutau 14. Habana
16. Brits 17. Franks 18. Duplessis 19. Timani 20. G.Smith 21. Piennar 22. Giteau 23. Gear/Mitchell/Naiyaravoro/Sivivatu/Marshall/ JOC (James O'Connor)/ etc etc etc

When thinking about this it got scary how many still amazing players are NOT playing super rugby...common guys, just 1 billionaire to boost Super Rugby teams and we can get them all back.

My NZ team would be something like this. Some recent overseas retirements have hurt the team (Hayman & Williams) as well as unfortunate events (Collins).

1. Ben Franks
2. Corey Flynn
3. Neemia Tialata
4. Tom Donnelly
5. Jeremy Thrush
6. Adam Thompson
7. Luke Braid
8. Chris Masoe
9. Alby Mathewson
10. Dan Carter
11. Sitiveni Sivivatu
12. Ma'a Nonu
13. Conrad Smith (C)
14. Richard Kahui
15. Charles Piutau

16. Aled de Malmanche
17. John Afoa
18. Ben Tamiefuna
19. Michael Fitzgerald
20. Nasi Manu
21. Piri Weepu
22. Nick Evans
23. Tamati Ellison

Coached by Cotter (forwards), Schmidt (backs) and Deans (defence -- well if he could play nice with the others).
