Hey All,
Was just reading an article from last year on Rugby union amongst Indigenous people...
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/rug...enous-stars-sidestep-rugby-20100209-nplr.html
I know that there is actually quite abit that goes on to promote the code amongst the Indigenous people, such as the Reds visiting rural communities, lloyd mcdermott, ella 7's ect. but does this really help? i mean the lloyd mcdermott teams consistantly play in the second division of the u16's and u18 comps, the ella 7's doesnt seem to get much coverage!
There were some great ideas by Wolvering in the "ARU braingwave to plug $$$ black hole" thread.. of producing a similar annual fixture of an australian Indigenous team vs a australian Polynesian Team. How good would this be! If people like mark ella and KB (Kurtley Beale) pushed the ARU to do this, i think there would be a fantastic turn out. it could be similar to the ex ab's vs ex wallabies which was staged earlier this year for the christchurch fund...
what do people think??
btw does anyone know if there are any current indigenous club/super 15 players that could fill in the blanks?
