Thanks Scarfie.

I have been here a short time and came here because I saw the tone of the place was civilised and Rugby focussed. Those values come from the top and take a lot of work and dedication to maintain. The challenge is now up to the Mods and Senior Members to keep those values alive whilst promoting the healthy debates we see now.

Bliksem only see this thread now, Vokket Doc, you cant go now Boet. Hell with this new mods coming on I feel like Bees Roux in the police cells.

Great job and awesome growth in three years!

Paarl, you could be the new South African correspondent on The Chaser with gems like that.

Cheers Paarl, I always appreciated having overseas posters here and I hope that continues.

You might want to tread gently, though Oom. More gently than Bees, for example.

Great work Scarfo, we humbly salute you.

But I think you should come clean about the real reason for you retiring as admin.

I am of course talking about the deep and bitter sense of disappointment regarding Sam Norton Knights failure to fulfill his potential.
The shove from Lote. The disaster in Cardiff. I know just how much it all hurt you.

Some things you just can't get over.

Ja Boet you always been a godfather to me and I'll miss that.

Cyc on the other hand, he'll just nail this old Boer into the ground with his yellow/red cards like they did with Bakkies, armbands wont save me.

Wonder what happen to my big pel Biffo? See Neuter is back and starting to fasten the boxing gloves.

Top effort Scarfman. Give yourself a pat on the back and a well earned break from being the head honcho of one of the best rugby sites around. Since finding it in 2008 when trying to educate myself on the game and team that I have come to love, then joining last year, I rarely go a day without logging on. G&GR has kept me sane during many a dreary work day. Should you ever find yourself in Paris then drop me a line so I can buy you a beer.

What are you doing man?! Entrusting all your good work to those neanderthal new moderators?! The end of the world is nigh!!!!!!

Excellent work to date though.

Beer will of course be forthcoming when you are in my neck of the woods.

I've only just opened this thread, being misled by the title. Thanks, Scarfman, for creating and maintaining a site that is a pleasure to be part of.

Scarfman - Top Marks for what is I think one of, if not the best Rugby Rugby Forum on the web.
Like the other Kiwi posters here I find it refereshing to be able to engage in reasoned and thoughtful discussions without the jingoistic name calling that pervades just about every other forum. Here's to another 3 years or 10 or 20 !

As one of the longest-standing members of TYS (and a fellow mountaineer!) I'd like to bestow a singular title on Scarfy: Founder of the Scarf. There you go Scarfy, wear it with pride.

Thanks go to Gagger and Moses for their agreement and technical assistance.

Lindommer has indeed been lobbying on your behalf, and it's hard to argue with.

Top effort starting this place and setting the vibe Scarfman, lots of work goes on behind the scenes and it's been a great job to set and maintain the tone making G&GR forums a very enjoyable place to spend time.
