I'm late for this one, but North Sydney Oval is a pile of dog turd to watch a game which uses a rectangular field. The damn (tiny) grandstand is at an angle to the field. One of my most hated grounds - it was bad enough having to go back to it during the ARC. You're better off using nice custom made rectangular grounds, like the aforementioned Paramatta Stadium, or Bluetongue Stadium on the Central Coast, or even better yet, the SFS if you think enough will turn up.

A sunday arvo game at Homebush just holds no magic for me, nor do I get much of the family vibe from ANZ.

Totally agree, Ash. NSO's a pretty ground to look at, that's until the players run on. No stand's square on to any side, maybe the Members' Stand behind the dead ball line at the northern end, which has a bloody big fig tree obstructing the view. And the sides are too far away from the game. I invariably spend a lot of time at NSO wandering around trying to find a better viewing spot, and always fail. Players tell me it's a good ground to play on, though.

As I said, a pretty ground. Maybe best for cricket.
