Thanks Slim...I was actually looking for a little more detail. Does all the tv money go to the ARU...the ARU keeps some and shares it out amongst franchises or does amount x go directly to each franchise. Who controls the tv money?

Pretty sure a big chunk is kept aside in the expectation of KPI's being reached...

Yes the ARU get all the money and trickle it out to the different teams.

From what I have hear they break it down by players wages and a High Performance Agreement that forces a lot of conditions on the teams. (Medical programs, analysis software, releases to U20s etc). That way if the union fails to fulfil the commitment of these agreements then the ARU can withhold the funding.

I believe that the increase in the salary cap does not mean the ARU will increase the funding, instead the funding must come from the individual team instead.
