Had a superb night... here's the highlights

5pm left work and walked to Circular Quay
5:25 arrived at the Captain Cook, grabbed a beer and watch first half of the Donkeys
6:10 walked across the park to the SFS, bought two cheap seats and mat WJ and Sage at the gates
6:20 went looking for the new TahBar, and ran into the entire Hurricanes team trying to find the SFS. Told them to take a left at the gate and it's just across the park. Found the new TahBar, seems it's the mohter fucking MEMBERS STAND at the SCG. So we sat on the balcony drinking beer. Never thought I'd get in there!
6:50 end of the Brumbies game so we moved on from TahBar to the SFS
7:00 entered the SFS, got 4 beers and found our seats. Already a good sized crowd.
The Game - as we were in the cheap seats there were heaps of Hurricanes supporters around us, apparently the doll doesn't pay real well. Heaps of banter back and forth, and we gave Cory Jane heaps of shit for his pink boots. There were two of the dumbest Kiwi's we've ever encountered sitting behind us, amazing to realise these are ones smart enough to leave NZ, imagine what's still in Wellington. They took about 15 minutes to come up with an insult like "you're a faggot" or "flowers are gay". They tried some mum joke to Jesus who absolutely owned one of them "my mum said your dad went alright but has a tiny cock".. shut em up for 20 minutes.
Kurtley's first try was right in front of us, he points directly at us when he scored at 46 seconds in the youtube

After the game we went to the Tap House, drank some fantastic beers and had many laughs. Met up with Lindo and shook the hand that Cyclo uses to fondle balls all day. Matty_k randomly recognised me as well so was good to meet him.

Got a kebab on the way home, would be in my top 3 best nights at the rugby.

Moses, I think you blokes must have been sitting in front and to the right of me and my mates. Were the Kiwis you were talking about the ones trying to pick up the Japanese chicks?

I also thought it was a great night. We left Epping at about quarter to six, walked from Central to the KB (Kurtley Beale) hotel for a couple of beers, then jumped on the Moore Park bus. Got to the game with about 10 minutes to spare and took our rubbish seats amongst a bunch of Canes fans. I thought the atmosphere was a bit up and down, making plenty of noise whenever the Tahs did anything good, but getting a bit quiet in patches. The only downside for the night was the enormous queues for drinks, which made me miss about a third of the first half.

After the game we realised that one of my friends had forgotten her ID so we trooped back to Epping and spent the rest of the night at the RSL.

Woke up at 1 this arvo.

Take a deep breath, NTA.
While you might be sick of perceived attitude about "westies", I get a bit over your constant ranting about the evils of the Eastern Suburbs, private schools, people with money (who apparently all found it by accident or inherited it - strangely a lot of people work hard just like you), people doing jobs that don't tick your boxes and so on. Too many chips on those broad shoulders, mate.
Much of what you say is true, but your stereotyping is tiresome and offensive at times.
I'm probably one of those people you despise - went to a private school, work as a medico, live in the Eastern Suburbs. I worked for all of that, just as you have worked to get what you have. I apologise for none of it.
As for the dramas getting to and into the ground - I met plenty of others who have travelled similar distances with seemingly less bother than you had. It sounds like you had a shitty experience, but I don't think it has to be that way.
Make your points, but lose some of the aggro.
And WJ, please stop winding him up! ;)

ALL of you, please stop winding ME up. :angryfire:

Come watch the Tahs with me some time. First, pray that Australia Network will put the game on. Second, pray that the delay in the telecast is no more than an hour or two. Send texts and e-mails to all requesting no progress scores if telecast delayed. Pray that the satellite is up when the telecast starts. Pray that the satellite stays up. When the satellite goes down, pray it comes back up. When the game is over, head to the only bar in town to find it full of very drunk cops - not a convivial atmosphere. Head home and get online to read the wash-up, only to read the curses of those who don't like sitting near kiwis or old blokes, or who don't like having to walk to get a beer, or who don't like the chat-up techniques of kiwis, or who don't know how to organize the trip home.

That's my problems. I just got an e-mail from a Tah Man in Bishkek, telling me of his travails last night - and I thought I had it bad.

Harden up, all of you.

I didn't notice any Japanese chicks, we were in the front row just beside the flags at the end the Tahs attacked in the first half. You'd have noticed Jesus is you were right behind us, he's not indiscrete!

I bought a mate along last night to his first Tahs game, he's usually a Knights supporter but had a great time as well

but then what am i going to do?
the young man just seems to have alot of pent up anger, i was just trying to help him unload it.

so just to get this right,
the tahs should build a stadium of there own that they can then run and cater to the needs of one man out of a crowd of 32 thousand. it should be in the west so that man doesnt have to travel and it should encourage the crowd to have no reflection of the traditional roots or family tree of rugby up until today.

the fact the lines were long means the crowd was good, if you wanna take that up with someone, the scg trust owns and operates the stadium, not the tahs, the service people and equipment is all decided by them, they also service anz, parramatta and just about every other stadium in sydney, you can probably look them up online and send them a complaint direct if it affects you that much.

Everyone was into the game even the old and grumbling 'Canes supporter beside me was enjoying his grumbling.

Ditto

Yep, same here. Was a great atmosphere and pretty much everyone was going off. And i wasn't even drinking... Sat in the line to leave the car park for about 45 minutes (some people just don't understand one for one) and you know what. didn't bother me at all. Yeah, it could be done better but you know its going to be a hassle when you park there. Just more time to revel and talk about a sweet Tahs victory.

For next time check out the Fox Studios carpark, it's much cheaper (especially if you spend $10 in fox studios, ie two beers at the fox and lion) and much quicker to get into/out of.
