You lot got owned in the collisions.

Too many of your forwards are completely inadequate at the breakdown and get physically outmuscled. The Wallaby forwards don't make enough dominant tackles. They just stop people. When carrying they get stopped too easily and as a result all your phase ball comes too slow and you donlt build enough go forward.

Dunno what Link is going to do.

I reckon To'omua and Kuridrani is the go. But without some bastardy upfront you can forget it,
When we have players like Timani who could be making metres he gets stopped at the line! If he drove his legs in the tackle he could be devastating same with Simmons. And that's why Hooper gets the ball the most because he makes a second effort by driving his legs. He's one of our smallest forwards but makes the most metres! Our big guys need to follow

Guys, I have binned a few members on this thread alone tonight.

Settle down with the direct personal abuse towards each other and the players, please.

Oh, when I say "please", what I meant to say was "or else".

Thanks.

In terms of defence I think AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is no winger. I rate his heart et al, but I think his speed is such that he may be a liability in defence. Though our defencive structures are a little off.

Hooper, if he is in the team, bring him on late; too much of a penalty magnet at the moment.

We need mongrel in the forwards, and Horwill was off his game tonight.

The AB's were too good. They did get the rub of the green, but the flaws in the Wallabies offset that.

But it would be good to see them ref'ed properly. They were off side, went off their feet and basically were allowed their obstructionist illegal play at the break down; scragging players or taking out or interfering with players itwo or three meters past the offside line. But I dare not say too much about that or I will have Kiwi supporters, in a very much Spiro Zavos manner, saying I know nothing about the game, Saffas are sub-human thugs, Australians are no good at Rugby and also are wingers and (incidentally) Kiwis love the AB's and New Zealand the further they are from the place.:p

A good game though and well done the ABs

One question for my Kiwi brothers. Has Kieran Read surpassed Ritchie yet?

Apart from RM's obvious captaincy skills I think KR is the one whose play is most dominant?

Gotta be close to surpassing Ritchie. Read's captaincy skills are also very good, and he manages the refs really well.

While speaking about ref management, and in my humble opinion, Horwill's ref management is letting your team down. Mowen has a similar manner to Read, and doesn't seem to have the sulky pouty demeanour towards the refs. If you are abrasive towards any ref, I'm pretty sure that is going to backfire at decision time.

I saw some very good signs this afternoon, sufficient to believe that if Australian rugby ever embraces physical conditioning appropriate for the sport, specifically focussing on really heavy strength training, we have the potential to be a seriously competitive force, including against the All Blacks.

I should live so long.

I wouldnt go as far as to call tonight kiwi side a 'B' team, but keep in mind that the wallabies still failed to beat a team missing McCaw, Carter and Smith - who are each the best player in the world in their position. Plus Kaino is still overseas, Retalic was on the bench, Jane was injured.

I think the last two games have been improved performances, but there is still a lot of work to do ( in the tight 5 especially), before we can hope to win more than the odd game against top opposition.

To be fair we are missing Higginbotham, Pocock and Fardy who until their injuries were some of the in form loose forwards in the SH. Add to that Hugh Pyle, TPN and Cliffy Palu and I think you could argue we're playing our B team as well. With any one of those boys back we'd be far more competitive at the break down (Bar TPN who would be jostling with Moore).

James Horwill is useless. He has to go. At one point he stood and watched a ruck <1m from him and the All Blacks turned the ball over. Zero effect as a tight 5 member. Compare his contributions to Retallick and Whitelock - he's the captain and suppose to lead by example.

JOUBERT WAS SHIT, how about about playing a fair game with decent refereeing, that would be a nice change for international rugby. I have said it before, These clowns that are paid real dollars to administer a game are taking the piss, and are a fuKing disgrace and the fans deserve better. A well refereed game would have resulted in a thriller as these teams tonight were going gangbusters . It seems to me the biggest problem in world rugby is the overpaid , under performing officials.

Maybe time for a Genia style rest on the bench. Did wonders for Will. Mowen is more than capable of handling the captaincy.

F me, never thought i would agree with you zander, but it is what it is, like lewisr said maybe a spell on the bench would do him good.

Horwill is well and truly out of form. The consensus of that view is compelling but to claim he is useless is talking crap.

Actually the bloke has a reputation for setting a consistent high standard so when he finally hits a form slump like all players do, it will look bad.

Kev will bounce back.

I agree with everything you say, but at the moment he's a passenger at a time when we really cannot afford anyone to be off their game. He may need time on the bench to give him that rev up, seem's to have worked for Genia or a good pre-season away from the Test arena to get his body and mind back into shape.

Joubert was reasonable, even accommodating towards us, with regards to our consistent offending in the red zone, so I don't think your whinging about the ref is well received

Jesus, what a shocker for the Wallabies. They did okay, but that was an All Blacks B team. They'll be shell shocked after that.
B team? R u trolling? There was nothing B about that team and some would say bit was more of a b wallabies team then a b all blacks team. Go back under your bridge.

Mate, we should take it as a compliment. The Wallabies showed a significant boost in performance and the trolling is just a mask in recognition of that. We still have a long way to go. The forwards need someone to put a rocket up them but there's hope once again.

Yeh agree. I really enjoyed the second half. Our attack is defiantly coming together. I think the all blacks are almost more brutal then the boks at the moment.

An undefeated RC would certainly suggest they are the more brutal team. It's actually a trademark of NZ Rugby across the board. If you look at the result of the GC 7s not only in the final but throughout the whole event, you would have noted that they hit the ruck harder than any other team. Same applies for the ABs.
