Found a bleep test comp for the all blacks on their website. Video is between records 41-50 if you were interested.

Bleep test revealed that Israel dagg and cory jane were the first backs to bow out (it looked like that anyway).

Cruden, Conrad smith and Kahui were the final three. Then conrad and cruden. Then conrad won on about 19.4 which is good for someone who weighs around 95 kgs.

I wonder which of the wallaby backs would have won the bleep test comp

I remember doing these tests when I played. At the time our coach said that Neil Back was the best he'd heard of and he had a score in the 20's or thereabouts. Mighty impressive.

No, Conrad wins, I've seen it. I watch a lot those AB videos, Mike Cron on the scru, etc. They're good stuff.

Backs shouldn't be expected to win it, especially fullbacks and wingers. They need to be fit as, but most of the training they do is explosive speed and finishing. I'd want Elsom, Pocock and other backrowers and forwards to be winning Aussie ones.

I am not suprised that the newest members of the squad are the worst, i bet there is a huge step up in intensity from supe14 to tri nations.

Also does anyone else think that israel dagg looks like karmichael hunt
Nisbo does! He also thinks C Smith, D Carter, So'oialo, Nonu and Cowan look the same though, so I don't know if that counts...

Over here in NZ we have these Powerade ads that put an "average" dude - read that as "fit and obviously goes to the gym a fair bit" - into an AB training session. It's pretty bloody incredible what these lads go through, the loss of fluid alone is dramatic!

There's no way they could have got those scores - the beep test must have been influenced by paddy and didn't notice the guys turning atleast an inch offside!!!

We've had a similar set with an average Joe up against Timana Tahu, Chris Judd (an AFL star) Izzy Folau. Agreed, it's incredible.

Yep, back rowers should be at the top of the list almost all the time. It's quite incredible the combination of aerobic and anaerobic fitness required to play in those positions.

If that isn't a conspiracy to sell more tickets to rwc2011 then I'm a clown

My memory is hazy (it as a few years ago since I heard the stat), but I'm thinking around 20 was his score. A search on the Intertubes quotes anything from around 17 to 23 for him. He was an absolutely outstanding player in a great England back row regardless.

This test is not easy and takes real conditioning, very impressive a score in the 20s...

You guys should know the difference between the Beep test and the Yo-Yo test...

In the ABs videos, they're doing the Yo-Yo test. I'm not sure about the scoring in the test but I think it's from 11-20+.

The Beep test you guys are talking about, normally rugby players get 11-13+. Martin Johnson got 14 for his highest and Neil Back is said to have gotten 16+.

Anything beyond 16/17 in the beep test is nonsense. Anything higher and you need to sprint full pace to make the beep.
