All Black players to join SA Franchises?

After Chris Jack played for WP in our CC , reports in SA have it Carl Hayman & Carlos Spencer may join SA franchises as early as before the next S14.

Hayman will probably play S14 & CC rugby while Spencer will only play S14. The Lions have already put something on paper while the Bulls also are interested in Haymans services.

Meanwhile Hernandez will join the Sharks again after tasting his bit of CC rugby.

I think the Lions would love to have Specer on their books. With Jac Fourie & Petoors departure they are in desperate need for a experienced player. Myself for one cant place Herkie Kruger & Spenser in the same league. They obvious has some young talent (Boshoff, Rose) but for them its about survival and they need experiense players.

After Melbourne got the OK you are going to see some desperate signings and SA teams will lift their play a few inches because all the franchises know the Kings will come in and the lowest one will have to go.

Its about investing to survival here.

Hayman? That would be weird if true. All the noises he's been making have been either to look after his financial future and stay in Europe or come home to try and make the 2011 RWC team.

As for Carlos, as much as I was a huge fan of his in his heyday, he's not exactly the calming influence you need with a young backline in need of experience.

I couldn't see Spencer fitting into a SA S14 backline at all, nor would I see him as a useful recruit. Waste of $ there other than perhaps novelty value.

Hayman is all class and would do a great job.

Well Hayman will be a huge acquisition for the Brute boys, playing with Bakkies , Matfield , Gary Botha & Spies. TH is their missing link at the moment , Werner Kruger has been shoved all over the place in our past CC.

The SA franchises fork out big money these days, think Habana gets a few Million Rand for his move to the Stormers, ditto Mossie.

Still small money compare if they get dropped out of the S14 with the Kings lurking from 2011.

Sound like Chris Jack stay in Cape Town played a big role in this move of the big names.

King Carlos WAS a great player but to sign him in a desperate bid to survive is utter madness. The Lions might as well be signing off their death warrant.

A few years back Boland try to lure King Carlos, Paarl have a big All Black supportbase and they were thinking to get him as crowd puller.

Yet with all that going for him, he sits on the bench behind a Kiwi.

I foresee a lot of Kiwis having a conniption if Hayman ends up in a South African S14 team.

With that said, I don't see it happening. Jack came to Province due to SAIL having interests in both WP and Sarries. No such link for Hayman. So what else is there? Money? He can get more playing in Europe. Experience? That is about the only thing. He will get the experience of playing in SA. But All Black selection trumps that. If Carl has any desire to play in the 2011 RWC, he will go back to New Zealand, not sojourn to SA.

Rusty you forgot about the new S15 Boet. Melbourne need players and NZ & Aus will have to ease their rulings regarding selections. IF NZ change it from NZ S15 teams to any S15 team you just may see them flock all over the place.
