All Blacks Cory Jane and Israel Dagg were out drinking on thursday night . Manager Darren Shand said the players will face consequences. Cory Jane is playing today.
Jane was apparently the worst as he was behind the bar trying to get a drink and was smoking too.
I can't link the article from newspaper sorry.

This is so frustrating. It's not worth blowing the incident out of proportion, but it's selfish to do this in a week when half our outside backs are injured and when the team is under pressure from the Carter/McCaw situations.

Cory Jane. Great fend, but what an idiot.

ONE OF THEM SMOKED IN DOORS!

These professional sportsmen. Think they can get away with anything.

It is a beat up but in this day and age every time the media can talk about sports people (footballers in particular) doing something slightly wrong they grab on to it.

It amazes me that someone who has trained themselves up to an exceptional capacity aerobically would ever dream of lighting up. I know all the old stories, but they are usually about props whose aerobic performance didn't have to be that good in the old days. Imagine how much better he'd run if he gave up the fags. If I was the coach the team would have clauses in their contracts banning smoking completely. Just mind blowing that he can play at that aerobic level with such an addictive handicap.

A few drinks three days before a big game is no big deal, providing he is not carrying any injuries. Smoking is a bit unusual, but I will bet there are quite a few elite athletes who enjoy a ciggy or two.

i guess a few drinks is all right but as a professional athlete he shouldn't be smoking, especially not during the rugby world cup
