he is a number 8. He plays for school at 8 and goes very well. He has the body of a prop though....that is good for AICES, Aron is a class nuisance at the breakdown and a worthy addition.

So 8 lads with senior rugby experience

Hooker - Jock Barry
Second row - Tim Anstee
Centre - Isaac Rubuatoka
Outside backs - Jayden Stokes, Jacob Barnes
Half back - Connor Winchester
Loose forward ? - Henry Fuimaono
Unknown - Riley Crocombe

Is this better than previous years ?

Ben Shelley- apparently played in JGC.

There are also , probably like CHS and CCC, other boys who have played for rep Rugby league teams ,in this case there are a few boys who have played CIS rugby league in both the open and u16 team.

Chris McCracken

Jim Clark (26)
Ryan McCracken also has senior rugby experience in the Central West? competition. This boy is one to watch, big, strong, quick and fearless.

I will try to make sure he doesn't see this. I'm sure he'd appreciate it, but we might not get his head out of the door.

He has JGC (Western), as well.

Aron Peters has senior experience, as well.

well, while he is not playing grade. I can assure you that Dane did play for the Illawarra U18 squad last year as an u17 player at the NSW Country champs in the Shoalhaven and performed extremely well.

I stand corrected, he did play u18 for Illawarra in 2014. It's a shame he's not playing grade rugby as he has some ability. Apologies my memory failed me

Pardon my ignorance, but what regular competition does HVGS play in (post #24)? Is there a Hunter Schools competition?

Apart from AICES Cup, are there any regular AICES or sub association inter school rugby games?

What AICES Schools are large enough to sustain a 1st XV, Under 16's, Under 15's, Under 14's and Under 13's, or a 1st XV and a Junior XV?

HVGS have a junior school side, U14,U16 and a 1stXV plus a junior schools 7's, U14 7 s, U16 7 s a 1stvii. To make any of these teams you must trial.

They all play in various comps within the Hunter, Hawthorne shield, Waratah Cup etc, that this year has grown to I think about 8 schools, today the opens won the Hunter leg of the Waratah Cup.this term there is only 1 week where the 1st don't play, so that's pretty regular competition. Most days involve a round robin style so shorter games x 3 or 4.

The 1st train nearly all year that includes a full pre season.

There are also annual matches v Trinity for the junior school and Central Coast Grammar for the 16s and 1stXV. HVGS 16s tour NZ and the 1stVII have been playing in the international U18 at the Dubai 7s.

It's a solid but burgeoning rugby program with a level 3 coach with NSW schools experience

Some confusion over AICES U16 and U18 team playing in trials at Forshaw Park this weekend against CCC and CHS teams.

Anyone confirm if AICES U16 and/or U18 will be playing trials this weekend?
