Yep the current coach is a good bloke and well credentialled but let's be honest. Getting ash to be competitive in the aic comp shouldn't be hard given the school.
Records speak for themselves Milsey had St Eddie's winning then went to ash and turned their lack of recent premierships at first xv into gold and they are struggling since. Which other coach can show that success at a perennial loosing school- and convert at a school that should dominate year to year (and did under him)?
Sure cohorts are weaker/stronger and that's where coaching to the team strengths comes into it.
Dave Miles was outstanding at both schools. He is a huge loss for Marist. The majority of parents were surprised and disappointed at his forced departure. Huge loss.
Marist won 4 in a row. There was going to be a downturn, last year they came second. Who knows where they will finish this year. Just can't see the point in bagging the current school coaching staff.
From what I saw on Saturday, they dominated every other game from year 9 up. (Didn't see the other grades).
The seconds won 40 something to 5.The 10A's has a good win minus Tom Howard. A good indicator for the next couple of years.
Pretty bloody boring competition if Marist wins every year. Great to see St Eddies get up over St Pats. Laurie's are clearly a class above this year. The remaining teams will have some ding dong battles to settle second.
