You play the ref. It is what it is.
The scoreline today is a fair reflection of the game.
Young Floyd is a special talent. Lets appreciate this talent. He is year 11 like Baker, both will be something else in 2020.

From a table and games to play perspective am I correct (putting aside Iona as MCA's last game and a win), if the poo and wee upset MCA next week, we could possibly see a tied premiership between those 2. And if Villa topple SLC in the last game, (assuming a win next week) a 3 way, with each just having a loss.

Yes that's correct Echidna.

Villa finish with Pats at home and then SLC away. The last game will be intriguing depending on Padua.
Padua has MCA at home then Eddies at home.
Ashgrove play Padua away and then Iona at home

Yep he is one hell of a player. His footwork is unreal. Terrific to Watch , even with gritted teeth

Just can’t see the boys from Stafford getting over that Ashgrove team. Unless MCA just get super overconfident. Can’t see it happening.
But I do agree if they somehow got over them then the Villa v SLC game would become the super of super local derby’s.

Also Villa will find it hard (same as SLC) to lift for next week against Pats and are at real risk of losing that game if their heads are in the wrong place.

Tough loss for Villa yesterday - firsts seemed to be lacking energy towards the end. Davey should have utilised his subs who would have provided the team with fresh legs and more energy instead of waiting until the last 15 minutes of the game which he does often. Players 19 and 16 played extremely well when brought on. When number 19 came on he had an immediate defensive impact, likewise number 16 who provided the front row with a strong carrying option. Villa v SLC will be an interesting game for the final.

A hell of a day out at shorncliffe. Bitta heat towards the end of the 2nds game but a well fought win for the green and gold. The final score for seconds was 17-10. Firsts was a well contested game until the break where Pats had a stable 3 point lead. However the game broke away during the second half and Padua gained the upper hand. Pats played well but were no match for the Padua forwards and the line defence by Padua was very good. The number 14 from pats who was mentioned last week as playing up from 2nds (the fullback) started in firsts this week and played favorably with good runs and stable defence. Powasi Manu (probably screwed the spelling) the Padua 8, was an absolute gun built like a house and is a grade 11 will be returning next year for the brown and gold, futures looking bright in Kedron. My 4 best on field for both teams were the SPC 9 and 7 and the Padua 8 and 6

Lauries are looking like they will have a good 1st XV team next year. i believe there 2nd XV are currently second on the table, the 10As are currently undefeated. MCA has a few year 11 boys in the 1sts, there 2nds are also currently undefeated and the 10As are second on the table. should be a close one next year hope SLC beat MCA next year would be good to see someone else win besides MCA.

I would expect MCA to be as strong next year. This year's Yr 11 boys have lost once to SLC back in year 9, in probably the worst game they have played whilst in the senior school. This year's MCA 10As are much better than they were as 9As. I would imagine next year will be much like this year. A lot of hope, but will need a lot more than that to beat MCA at home, they also will have Villa, and Padua at home too.

I understand that there are 6 yr 11 and 1 year 10 in MCA current 1XV. This includes the future capt Baker (6), superstar Aubrey (15) and both wingers. I also heard that there are at leat 6 year 11s in the 2nd XV and another 3 out with injury. Add that to the current 10As and the 2020 MCA 1XV will be good. Interesting to see who will coach the MCA 1XV next year given the recent additions to the rugby program in 2019.

Forwards will determine who wins the game but MCA (236-10) and Padua (143-58) tells a story of attack and defence.
I think Padua has a few wildcards that could challenge the MCA outside backs but Ashgrove has a deeper bench than Padua across the park.

Lost in all the 1st XV chat is the GF in the 7A's as the 2 undefeated heavyweights Ashgrove and Padua go head to head in a battle for the ages. Get there early to secure a good position.
