The locks and backrow will be super competitive with Brad Kuhn , Harry Fox , Bruce Tevega and Ben Geraghty all having strong claims
Jacob Heinke would be my first pick at lock whose set piece has been outstanding
I wouldn’t be surprised to see a guy like Villa’s Lucas Boylan be in the mix - at least for a back up lock spot
Yep I hear ya ... . but let’s see what happens - and my understanding is that it’s 7 front line players out not 5 and in 2020 look at Villa’s current year 9s for your answer - all 3 teams are travelling well and as the 2020 year 11s will provide the depth required for the 2020 seniors. That’s why I’m confident mate.Vic,
Villa's 10A's & B's have, collectively, 1 win so far for this season (against a gallant St Pats 10A's, back in the first round) with 350+ points against and 71 points for. Villa's current 10B's group have been on the receiving end of 6 or 7 cricket scores a year since they were in grade 5.
While Villa's current 10A's have been the team to beat for seasons past, and taking into account that they have 5 players out with injuries, past experience tells me they are going to struggle in 2020.
Regarding your 'strong age group moving into year 11' I have no doubt that the boys in your year 10 English class appreciate your good humour and optimism, but given the current A's team's non-performance, dependence on its stars and zero depth in that age group at Villa Park, I cant help but feel that Villa are going to need to find 15 more players (or a very large roll of bubble wrap for its star players) for a successful 2020 1st XV team.
I think there’s excuses everywhere on who would have won with this, that or the other. In SPC v MCA Marist made two changes mid 2nd half according to lots of opinions. They brought Heibke back on and an injured Tennysonwoods who scored a try and immediately returned to the bench after Rozka scored two minutes later. I think SPC were courageous until then. Lucky or unlucky or playing an Ace by one of them. You make your own luck. Some useless information after round 5, different opponents will obviously change the for and against.
Pat’s leading way in attack by a huge 1 point over IONA and leading defence. A credit to the team and coaching staff. Unfortunately appalling refereeing and a couple of bad choices in the game (I know every team has similar stories) cost them a win against Marist after being 16-14 ahead at halftime. One that got away. Great game by Marist to finish stronger.

I gave SPC a good chance today. Iona haven’t really gone on after beating MCA in Iona’s 2nd round GF. You can’t put old heads on young shoulders when they look back and see who beat who in what round, so therefore this team should beat this team. It’s probably fairly indicative Iona, MCA and SPC will fight out for a possible joint premiership. After Rnd 2 Iona & SPC were the only ones capable of taking it out by themselves.32-19 Full Time
